Oh dear! Try again.
Steve Kember was Palace manager after Steve Bruce. Bruce had the Brum job for well over a year before Dowie took over at Palace.
Dowie's family have lived in Lancashire since he took the Oldham job.
The first bit is almost certainly true. The last bit could be as well. Having said that, before Dowie took the Palace job he asked Steve Bruce for his opinion. Bruce actually recommended SJ as a decent guy to work with, despite their public bust up.
Great radio quote from SJ -
"Dowie talks about challenges. He failed to keep us in the Prem, then failed to get us promoted. What sort of challenge exactly is he after?"
:lolol:
I know he’s a plank at times but you have to hand it to him – I’ve not seen it but I understand Dowie was lost for words. That is a first.
Of course, the main worry for us is that we don’t have a manager at present and all of this hardly helps us to recruit.
Bloody entertaining club I support...
Despite my username and avatar I agree, but then some of your crowd still bang on about us losing 9-0 (which they don't seem to understand was the catalyst for a great period for Palace).
There's something a bit glib about a football website telling us how we should feel.
It could still all go rather nicely if a decent boss is appointed who spends the AJ money wisely.
