"THREE PIECES OF BAD NEWS FOR PALACE
The summer of 2006 will not be remembered fondly by Crystal Palace fans.

Following the play-off thrashing by Watford, manager Iain Dowie announced his departure from the club on Monday.

Alas, Tuesday’s papers have three more pieces of bad news for Palace fans:

1) Dowie is set to become manager of bitter rivals Charlton.
2) Dowie is set to be replaced, according to The Daily Mirror, by Graeme Souness at Selhurst Park.
3) After being allowed to leave England's training squad to meet with chairman Simon Jordan, striker Andy Johnson informed F365's hero that he wants to leave the club. Everton, Bolton and Wigan are all prepared to spend £8m on his services.

Palace fans, the number for the Samaritans can be found in the phonebook."

1) I still think Dowie will take a job in the north to be near his family.
2) Not going to happen - not room for his head and Jordan's in the same club.
3) AJ's leaving - tell us something we don't know. Jordan trying to get the best out of the deal for the club.

So nothing new really - a decent manager and we'll be OK. Shouldn't you lot worry about getting a decent manager? Finishing 24th in the Champ and keeping the same useless jocko hardly bodes well for next season does it?

There's something a bit glib about a football website telling us how we should feel.

It could still all go rather nicely if a decent boss is appointed who spends the AJ money wisely.

And the fourth:

Simon Jordan is going to smack Clinton Morrison's bottom for saying that Jordan and Dowie had 'a bit of a barney'.

Jordan says that Clinton needs to learn when to open his mouth and when he should stay quiet.

Pot, Kettles anyone...?

They love Palace, as they take comfort from us when all goes wrong at their place.
