I would have been right cheesed off to have left that game at 0-0 but, I've paid for 90+mins and that's what I stay for and it turned a pretty dissapointing mae into one which has made my weekend!
Then a pint or two after, no queues and home happy and only slightly later. Plus added bonus of...
Not a Bennet Field post but generally transport is really settling down.
Stayed for a drink or two, left ground at 5.30, station was running well, crossed over to Lewes Road where plenty of buses.
I think it's a nice touch and shows a certain respect for fellow fans who have spent time & money supporting their team. If it fosters goodwill then it's a whole lot better than when I was a youngster watching football in the 70's & 80's where going away was like going to war.
Just love the place and can't wait for the next game. Atmosphere none too bad today, catering so much better too and I'm getting used to the after match pints then getting home on easy transport.
S'funny. As I walked around the ground today and saw all those bikes with the coaches infront, I did wonder what were the chances of a coach backing into some bikes.
Hope you are on the way home by now.
It was a sort of watershed game, when it seemed every Albion fan, including many who had stopped going, decided that enough was enough and we would go to the wall if nothing was done.
It really brought all the types of fans together. High profile peole like, Harty, Attilla, Costa & Samrah were...
I wonder how many moaners out there were around at the Goldstone on this evening in December 1996 to see bottom of the table Albion take on the awful Darlington, a game we could surely win?
Except Albion were truly awful and managed to lose. There was a very early goal, that I missed, so I...
I was there and at the Walton game just a few days before. Conceeding 12 at home in 4 days is something some of the current moaners on here can only dream of!
Everytime Rovers attacked, crossed, goal. A look at the lino, then the ref but all in vain. 1-5 at half time, it just wasn't real...
Some of the more mature ladies at work have taken a liking to my scruffy look but I intend to go back to baby face....unless there's a frost on the ground.
Went along to good 'ol Withers today to watch Albion Ladies v Spurs and it was a pretty decent came before over 450 enthusiastic fans.
Albion played really well and some smooth passing & hitting the woodwork twice but the Spurs team, apparently on a run of defeats, sneaked a 1st half goal and...
I stayed for a beer or ttwo, headed off for home at 6.00 and arrived home about 10 mins later that I usually do when I dash straight off.
Lesson learned.
In WSU the small kiosk ran out and 2 guys were manning that point. The bigger bars had pies & queues so why could they not organise a bit of re-stocking? Seems pointless staff with nothing to sell and long queues at other points, with pies to spare.
