I'm not having a go, just feels odd that the season's starting to look decent and someone has to be criticised. For what it's worth, I think it's easier to make a save like that from a shot outside the area, like from CMS, than it is from a deflected header from a corner. We'll see. I'm sure we...
I'm not sure (rightly or wrongly) whether we're looking for a direct Ulloa replacement. We're trying to replace his goals but not his height. Hyypia's style involved more fluid movement so I think he wants a striker who fits that (which is why CMS got more opportunities yesterday than he often...
I think that's really harsh though. Did I say no deflected shot is saveable? What I said was he could do nothing about it and in this instance, the deflection meant he couldn't go for it. Are you saying that if he'd made a couple more saves during the game, letting the goal in wouldn't have been...
I agree. Still very much a work in progress. Hopefully a couple of players still to come in, the likes of Bennett, Holla and McCourt need to get match fit and we need to get March and Stephens fit.
However, I walked away from Birmingham last weekend fearing a relegation battle. Really thought...
I agree with this. What he did do looked impressive. I think he'll be even more useful away from home and at home to better sides as he'll get more room.
Holla started well but drifted a bit but the second goal was Holla to Bennett, Bennett in to Texeira and Texeira scores. A good combination!
But surely moaning about a signing before you've even seen them play isn't very supportive. I didn't know anything about him so kept an open mind until I'd seen him play. That's not wearing rose tinted specs, just giving the new player a chance.
Did Kuipers overcome it though? His distribution was always poor. As said elsewhere on here, Stockdale's distribution is a lot better than Kuipers or Kuszczak.
Bizarre. So because he's not had a save to make yet, he's questioned. He could do nothing about the goal, it was deflected. Or about the other two he's conceded. What do you want him to do? Get the defence to leave someone free so they can shoot and he can dive brilliantly to earn your support...
Sounds promising. I agree his scoring record suggests he's not the main forward but we do need another option with Buckley gone and, as Hyypia doesn't seem to play wingers, a deep lying forward is probably a better option.
Interesting, that we were linked with Ward for £500K (got Bennett on...
I agree and obviously that's what made Ward's mind up, for example. The only question with a young player is development. Sometimes at 20, you're better off taking slightly less money so you develop quicker and can earn more in the future. Not saying it will be relevant here, just that sometimes...
Not going to get too worked up about this. If he signs, that would be great but if we lose out to a Premier League team, then that's hardly an insult to us. He may develop quicker here but he will almost certainly be offered more money at Hull. Completely his decision.
As said elsewhere on this...
You've obviously not seen what the Burnley fan said about Ward then. Apparently, players sign for a club based on their history and status within the game!
So you shouldn't be allowed to loan out young players to get experience or players who've just come back from injury to get match fitness unless there's a transfer fee agreed? Lower league clubs would struggle massively without loan deals being allowed.
As for the original question, too many...
Obika was never bought for £2.75 million by a Premier League team. Bennett is clearly better than certain Middlesbrough fans are giving him credit for. Think how some of our fans on Twitter would behave if Barnes was sold by Burnley to a Championship team and they were asked for their views on him.
Great to hear. It amazes me the rubbish some people write on here about signings they've never even heard of. The club aren't perfect in the transfer market but if you're buying cheap players, they don't give them three year deals. Doesn't guarantee success but he was obviously highly rated in...
We certainly wouldn't have put that team out tonight! Having said that, he still lacks an assistant manager so maybe he's decided to use NSC for that. All part of FFP!
