[Misc] Where is the first place you will go when this lockdown is over ?

TK Maxx, North Street for some trainers and boots, I’m size 12 wide in footwear and living life to the Maxx is the only way to sort that one.

[Film] Big Name Film Stars You Dislike...

Definitely a mixed bag. I wasn’t overly enthused by his Munich South African character and I felt Defiance was let down by the hammy Belarusian accents, i.e, English with an attempted accent (see also Tom Hardy in Child 44, or Bob Hoskins in Enemy at the Gates).

[Film] Big Name Film Stars You Dislike...

You’re not allowed to say it on here, but DC really isn’t a great actor imho. Layer Cake was okay, but beyond that. May as well throw out Emily Blunt. I get the impression that behind the smiley interview facade she might be difficult to work with.

[Misc] What Book are you Currently Reading?

In a panic 20 book borrow from my local library before they closed I got out various by Baladacci, CJ Box and one by Chris Ryan ‘Death List’ which, if you can ignore ridiculous lines like ‘His slit throat looked like a Chinaman’s smile’ is a decent read. Anyone else done any Chris Ryan? The...

...for no rational reason. Al Pacino. Don’t ask me why, there’s just something about him.

[News] New ‘ Friday nite dinner ‘ Tonite 10pm Channel 4

Haven’t watched it for years and amazed it’s still going, was always a decent watch. Loved Tom Rosenthal in Plebs.

    Your Shopping Attire

Anyone on here wear a mask or similar to the supermarket? I feel like a bit of a pillock but I always have a long scarf double wrapped around my mouth and nose (for what good it does), plus gloves that I keep on. Have seen some people in full face motorbike helmets combined with covered face...

Main Coronavirus / Covid-19 Discussion Thread

Even the BBC is going more ‘Daily Mail’ these days with its click bait inflammatory homepage Coronavirus headlines. All becoming a bit tedious, and that’s not getting started on high profile sports people and celebs trying to stay ‘relevant’ with their narcissistic online updates, or the now...

[Football] Will this season be completed?

It’s almost as though people are desperate for Leeds to be in the PL because of their big club status. I wonder if we’d be hearing so much noise about awarding promotion based on current standings if that very catchable Championship second place position was currently held by Brentford or...

[Football] Will this season be completed?

With Fulham only six points off Leeds. Sorry, but that is absurd.

[News] Rules being relaxed on carrying over annual leave.

Just carried some over. With the short staffing in our office going forward due to sickness and isolation I can see trying to get leave in the next 6 months or so being an issue so you’re potentially going to end up with a lot of people with a lot of leave in their pots.

Elderly parents, how are they coping?

Classic, I can never remember if my mum's 83 or 84. Same with my dad, 78, possibly 79...or 77. :D

[Football] Will this season be completed?

The only bona fida certainty as things stand is Liverpool winning the title, everything else is up for grabs still, so end the season now, give them the title, which will be a bittersweet award for them, presented in isolation and their detractors can forever claim that it was a phoney title...

[Football] Will this season be completed?

I can see Euro 21 not happening, nor the Nations League (whenever that is), nor the World Cup. The domestic leagues need to regroup first, the fallout will drag on for a long time to come. International tournaments should be put on the back burner.

Elderly parents, how are they coping?

There's no way my elderly parents would stay indoors for 3 days, let alone 12+ weeks. They do their own supermarket food shopping still, as do loads of oldies where they live. The message on that is a bit mixed for some - stay indoors, but we'll set aside an hour in the morning for you at the...

Main Coronavirus / Covid-19 Discussion Thread

Morrisons Seaford have decided to have their one in one out line threading around the enclosed underground car park rather along the wide pavement running around the building’s exterior. Utter stupidity.
