It's a bit different when it's your job to be right. Bozza passes information on to NSC. It's not his job. Naylor, whose job it is to report on Brighton, is gloating on his Twitter account about how right he is in this instance but giving no indication of what he's right about. In my opinion...
If this is Zamora going elsewhere, I would start to wonder about the club. I was firmly in the group that said judge at the end of the transfer window last season. I understood with the managerial changes that it would take time, especially with a few big name departures. Sadly, it turned out to...
Absolutely continue to pass it on. Can you imagine how boring NSC would be all summer if we just discussed players when they signed (especially this summer)?
Sadly I think that is right.
It's a bit pathetic for a local journalist to cryptically gloat about being right like this. He's been wrong a lot in the past e.g. the CMS story when he continued saying that we weren't going to sign him.
I agree it's not priority but I do think it's a good idea to loan Walton out for the season so he gets a full year of first team football and comes back a better player. If we do that, would you be happy with Ankergren as second choice?
Completely agree with this. We spent a lot of money on transfers and wages over the first two years up and in the last two we've spent money on Chicksen, Stephens, Baldock, O'Grady, Stockdale, Kayal plus a number of players on loan/free transfers who probably had significant fees attached to...
Would be pleased with all of these. I seem to remember Pudil looking good against us before and, with Watford going up, would be a good target. Russell is a much better option for playing wide in a front three than anyone we have and I seem to remember is pretty quick (something we desperately...
People keep going on about Derby signing a few players, which they've done and they look a strong bet for doing well (although Clement is untested in management).
However, there are 22 other teams in this league outside us and Derby. Half of them have not even signed a player yet. Why not...
I'm sure that's not always true. There must have been a sub sent off without coming on for having a fight.
While this was not true for Dunk, he did only last eight minutes from memory. Not a great deal of time to judge (although I've known Brighton fans write off a player in less time).
I rate Dunk but to be honest £5 million is a lot of money and would be hard to turn down. He has only played one full season and still has a lot to learn, especially with regard to diving in on tackles. In some ways I think his goalscoring masked these.
As said earlier, we would need to spend...
Seriously? Why? It's one day and we're not even in pre season. We're hopefully close but there's nothing been said (except a tweet from the NSC twitter account which was then removed) to suggest we were going to make a signing today. Hopefully we'll hear about a couple of signings this week but...
So you missed the run of home games against Ipswich, Birmingham and Leeds for example (I know Forest wasn't great but we did still score twice). I'm not saying we were perfect but Baldock got injured against Derby (a game where we didn't play great but won) and after that we lost our way...
To be fair, the dull tactics Poyet used that you criticise got us fourth in the league (and tenth the year before) and then Garcia took us to sixth. Very few teams go all out away from home. It is natural to be more defensive. I'm not saying all out defence but a slight change in formation.
Have to agree to disagree. Fact is Hughton had them playing good football for a while (although there were some games that proved an exception). Once we lost Baldock, the season went downhill. I think you're being very harsh on Hughton. He now has to get the signings needed to change what...
I'd really like an away game first game (and as we were home last season, there's a fair chance of that happening). Somewhere like Ipswich would be good (and probably my preferred choice) as quite easy to get to (especially from London) and trains won't be too expensive. We seem to have played a...
I don't think Colunga will come back and would be surprised if O'Grady stayed. Think it will just be Baldock.
I meant more back up to our main targets rather than back up for the first team. However, I agree with you. Really don't think he's the sort of player we should be looking at.
In fairness, both Baldock and CMS were the top scorer in League 1 when we signed them. Cody McDonald was not. I'd be very surprised and disappointed if this is true but don't think it is. If true, it would seem more likely to be a back up to our main targets if we wanted him.
That's just what I'm saying. The number of signings after the season started was ridiculous and we effectively gave up on the first two games (which were both very winnable). The performance at Birmingham, who hadn't won a home league game in a year, was pathetic.
My point is until pre season...
I'm not sure we were ever saying much different. I agree with you about last summer being terrible and the season as a whole. We were very lucky to stay up. I also think we need to act early this summer but with pre season three weeks away, I'm not going to panic yet. If pre season comes and...
