Having been in Indiana after heavy snowfall it is fair to say that while the people of Indiana just get on with their lives, we only need a couple of millimetres of snow here and everything stops. You should share this thread with your local friends and see just how much they laugh over our...
I saw the second UK leg of that tour when they played Worthing later in 1985. Also the Vigilante tour that followed.
Always loved that album - so many great tracks. I've also got one called The River Sessions which is a live album recorded for BBC Glasgow just as Storyteller's Night came out...
Plenty of Magnum being played on Planet Rock this morning. Saw them live a few times, always very good.
I'd read Tony was unwell and they had postponed the upcoming tour. New album is due out on Friday so hopefully it will be a suitable last note in a long musical career.
They haven't quite got around to digging up my road yet but when I looked at the prices, while the introductory deals looked good but the ongoing pricing was more expensive than Virgin. If nothing else though, whoever you are currently with, it is another bargaining tool when it comes to the...
Not a huge amount of options these days for lunch depending on the day of the week. I had a nice lunch in the Rights of Man before Christmas. I also like Zorba (Turkish restaurant) , consistently good food if that's your thing.
I was talking to the owner of a small local hardware shop. I offered cash for a small purchase but he said they preferred cards now as there were no banks nearby and it was a real pain for them to have to go into the town centre to pay in cash.
I always keep some cash on me just in case...
Great old ground and the City Chippy nearby was great. However, came out after an evening game and took a wrong turn and quickly found ourselves in a area where we did not feel at all safe (Moss Side?). Thankfully a cab came by and we were able to jump in and get back to civilisation
My Dad told me when I got my first football boots etc for use in school PE to always wear shinpads. My Grandad was the old 'bucket man' for Wigmore (now Worthing United) and had seen plenty of people injured by not wearing them.
My 'Robson Gold' shinpads saved me on numerous occasions back in...
Some great (and not so great) old TV on Talking Pictures TV and also That'sTV.
Talking Pictures have tried to bring back the old Saturday morning TV from the 70's (the days before Swap Shop and Tiswas)
Been rewatching the first series of Thunderbirds recently which are still great stories...
I remember going on Costa Coaches to Millmoor to see a 4-3 defeat on a Tuesday night.. The coach had to park up by the scrap yard and there was a lorry there with several members of the local plod in attendance. The driver of the lorry was in the process of being nicked for drunk driving.
My...
Always used to go there, was it called the Corner Post or something similar? Very welcoming and used to get a great ham and pease pudding bap in there.
Also, one year my mate was dismayed to find no pies in the away end (they were good pies). A steward went off into the home end and brought...
