    Southern Rail STRIKE details

Thanks TAR. There are curved platforms on Southeastern too - e.g. my station Lewisham has curved platforms. The driver judges when it's clear to go using the CCTV monitors at their end of the platform (or 'Train Dispatch Monitors' as they seem to call them). Do Southern platforms not have...

    Southern Rail STRIKE details

This doesn't really answer the point though, does it? I'm fortunate in that my commute to/from work is on Southeastern trains, not Southern. Put me in the position Bozza mentions (albeit Charing Cross rather than London Bridge). On Southeastern, there are no guards and the drivers operate the...

    ** Derby v BHA ** - Score Predictor - Now In it's 6th SEASON !!

A dull 0-0 to start the season. Sod the transfers in & out, on either team; my girlfriend's coming to her first away game so it's bound to be bloody dreadful.

Currently NO TRAINS for the Colchester or Forest games

Well it's the pub for Forest for me then - even if Thameslink & Gatwick Express were running I don't think I'd get back to Brighton station in time for the last train back to London after either game. So frustrating - if we hadn't moved it to the Saturday, everything would have been fine. I...

Kit announcement date and time being announced at 4:30

Hmm. Pure speculation and hope, but if this is a one-year kit I wonder if that's purely because even the club are fed up with the stick-on sponsor panel and want to move as soon as possible? 3 years doesn't seem entirely unreasonable for an agreement, this being the third?

Kit announcement date and time being announced at 4:30

How long are we committed to Nike for? I.e. how long before we can move to a different supplier that doesn't force that appalling stick-on sponsor on us?

    Derby Tickets

I've just bought mine as I noticed the website says it will be POTG, but prices will go up on the day.

Kit announcement date and time being announced at 4:30

Yeah, I think they did. The problem is that "they" back then was Errea, not Nike.

    Angela Eagle

Force him out via undemocratic means? Corbyn isn't being prevented from being on the ballot; he's being asked to meet exactly the same criteria as anyone else who wishes to be on it, i.e. get 51 nominations. If he doesn't get them, he doesn't get them, so he isn't on the ballot. If Owen Smith...

Appalling. Corbyn claims to have received death threats this week too.

Should there be a general election?

I don't think she's 'running scared' either really - but it's a card that Labour will play. I also agree that there's not a chance in hell Labour would win - which makes it even more bonkers that they've called for one. The Tories would likely extend their majority; the Lib Dems might win a...

Should there be a general election?

You're not wrong... but then it's actually Labour that are calling for one. Shooting themselves in the foot a little, but then that seems to be their main tactic at the moment. It seems a bit of an open goal for May to give them what they want and increase her majority. I see what you mean...

    Angela Eagle

Labour need to get rid of Corbyn, but just being "Not Jeremy" isn't enough to be a good leader either. Her leadership 'statement' is here - http://angela4labourleader.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Real-Leadership-Statement-from-Angela-Eagle.pdf - and I'm not sure it says anything at all about...

Should there be a general election?

"Gordon Brown is running scared of the people's verdict" - Theresa May when Gordon Brown took over and did not call a snap election. Calling one now may or may not be the 'right' decision for May, but it'd be a hypocritical decision not to...

Our new Prime Minister Theresa May, and her cabinet...

I can't see any result other than Labour going backwards. The latest polls have Labour 8% behind the Tories, vs 6.5% behind in the actual results in the last General Election. Yes, the polls were way off then....... they overstated Labour's vote share. Also the Tories will play the National...

Our new Prime Minister Theresa May, and her cabinet...

Labour have called for a General Election. It's an open goal for Theresa May; she'd be bloody mad to say no - then worries about her being unelected will disappear. Also, Corbyn will have no chance to resign after getting humiliated - the only issue being how small a party there would be for...

[News] Morgan Stanley begins move away from London

It's not just the shape and size though, remember. As Boris said during the campaign (Link), the EU has made it illegal to sell bananas in bunches of more than three. Finally we now have the right to buy 4 bananas in one go. Seriously though - I completely agree with you on this bit. I don't...
