The 2 strikers were Andone and Murray - neither started on the right wing (Andone moved there when it was clear it was going wrong but he did not start there)
Funny how the majority on social media were happy with the team when announced. Easy to criticise afterwards when it hasn't worked.
Gross played on the right a lot in Germany (and got the most chances created in the league). Easy to say he is too slow but Beckham for example was not exactly...
He tried something - it didn't work so he changed it.
Need to look at the game as a whole - if he is going to be criticised for the first half then yes he should get praised for the 2nd.
Doesn't suit the anti-Hughton agenda to give him any credit for anything though does it?
100% agree. He has been one of our better players this season but too many of our fans for some reason can't see what he brings to the team.
Pathetic how those with a vendetta against him can't even admit he played well 2nd half.
I kind of understood the starting line up.
He wanted to go 442 but that means leaving out Gross who is our most creative player. To keep him in the team he put him right wing (where he played a lot in Germany). Good to see us going 2 up top and it seemed a positive team. Trouble with 442 though...
IMHO because, despite having one of the smallest budgets in the division, we have not been in the relegation zone for 2 years.
We have been one of the 3 favourites for relegation in each of our 2 PL seasons yet, literally against the odds, CH kept us up last year (and hopefully this).
Might not...
Southampton and Bournemouth have much bigger budgets than us. They have been in the Premier League for years which makes a massive difference to budgets.
Having said that those 3 games were awful but the players have to take responsibility as well. Whatever you think of CH tactics he certainly...
Are you really comparing that Snodgrass challenge to Knocky's?? Not even close!
Agree we have had a raw deal from refs though.
I wouldn't play him - too much a risk for me (as much for him getting stroppy and switching off/trying to do too much himself than getting sent off). I'd play March and...
Excellent post.
We went 433 to try and score more goals away from home. It worked to start with- we scored more in Jan away than in 3 months before that. Problem was it was at the detriment to the defence that were no longer being supported as much. The conceding of goals then seemed to affect...
Do you honestly think with more attacking tactics we would have got more than a point from the last 2 games? Not pretty but spot on for the circumstances we are in.
I expect March is relieved of the rest - he was absolutely shot by the end on Saturday.
Expect all 3 to come back in on Saturday.
Makes sense to utilise the squad and make sure the players we need then are fresh.
Of course if Kayal is still not picked on Saturday......
I remember that Sudbury game - got that was bad!
Anyway I disagree about the difference in class - there is a MUCH bigger gap in the Premier League than in nay other division we have ever played in.
Wolves was the only game I have seen when we have been that defensive - and it was the right way...
