[Albion] Julio Enciso - Paraguay’s new wonder kid (Signed 17/06/2022)

He’s only got 18 months left on his contract doesn’t he? Can’t see us loaning him out without him signing a new contract, which I can’t see him doing.

[Albion] Julio Enciso - Paraguay’s new wonder kid (Signed 17/06/2022)

Worth noting the game was played 4000 metres above sea level. That’s some home advantage for Bolivia!

    [Albion] AFCON games over XMAS

Baleba won't be playing in those games as those are from the African Nations Championship: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/African_Nations_Championship. Only players playing domestically play in the tournament. Not to be confused with the African Cup of Nations, the much bigger competition that...

[Albion] Mats Wieffer SINGS on 5 year contract

Hard to do when you’re at the game. I need to see the 3rd goal back, but otherwise he did what he’s supposed to do. Making interceptions, winning tackles. Few poor passes when under pressure but don’t think Moder helped him much in that regard.

[Albion] Mats Wieffer SINGS on 5 year contract

Not sure what game people were watching. Thought he was one of our better players.

[Football] La Liga game in Miami

If they ever tried to move one of our home league games abroad, I would hope there would be huge protests against it. For me it would be as bad as the Super League proposal.

    [Albion] Danny Welbeck.

It reminded me of Jim McNulty. I bloody hope it’s not that.

[Albion] The high line is great

I don't see it as an on or off, high line or deep block set up. Against Chelsea the line was literally on the half-way line, which gives us no room for error at all. Against Spurs it seemed we dropped back 3-5 yards, which was still a high line but not to the extremes of Chelsea (A). And agree...

[Albion] Solly March, local lad and Premier League star, is f***ing brilliant

Sports Data collection isn’t advanced enough yet that it’s AI driven, but when you see players in completely the wrong positions it’s usually a novice data collector just getting it wrong. The live text commentary is programmatic with predefined text templates based on the events collected by...

[Albion] un-listing season ticket and the mad cost of upgrades

Have I missed something where we have 'normal' members? AFAIK it's just either a 'registered user' of the ticketing website, or a MyAlbion+ member. I agree with the sentiment though, you shouldn't have to pay £38 just for a friend to share their unused seat with you

[Albion] Jan Paul van Hecke - contracted to June 2027

Sounds like it's even worse than that, and it's 6 weeks out in total: https://sportwitness.co.uk/brighton-player-says-scan-revealed-significant-tear-had-been-playing-with-injury/

The Sarmiento, ACD and Rushworth loans all looked like poor loans at the start and seem to be proving so.

[Albion] Chelsea vs Brighton & Hove Albion *** Official Match Thread ***

Quite a lot of hyperbole there, Wieffer was dispossessed once all game while Kadioglu was dribbled past 5(!) times, and I’m not seeing anything like the same amount of criticism for him.

I thought Wieffer was fine yesterday, but looks like I’m in the minority with that opinion. He was nowhere near one of our worst performers.

Yes as I said it’s early days. However, if we’re loaning players to teams that already have a clear first choice in that position, or with a manager that doesn’t like loan players, then those are unequivocally bad loans.
