Well you could always try Fulham 3-0 or Roma 4-0 away. Or Bournemouth away 3-0. Or Arsenal 3-0 or Man City 4-0. All after Christmas. Never forget how awful we were second half of last season under RDZ.
No one denies the second half of the season was garbage (after a very good first half in Europe contention) but no fair person would not factor in an injury ravaged squad in that.

The worry now is we had something today that reminded me of that Fulham performance after spending huge sums on players. That’s a real kick in the spuds

Still made two game-saving saves though. Sorry - it's just what GKs, even NSC despised ones - do against us.
Mistakes of that magnitude would be enough to lose most Premier League games. It’s only because we were so woeful today that we let Sanchez off the hook sadly

Perspective has been recalibrated.

Yesterday was my birthday. Palace lost to the side bottom of the league at the start of play. I went into London to see The Frank and Walters. Much fun has been had.

We lost a football match. Farcically perhaps but still just a game of football. We’re a peculiar outfit so far this season but we sure as hell aren’t dull.

Life could be far, far worse.

Next!

Just watching MOTD - Palmer’s 3rd goal, the free kick, WTF, he takes the free kick a good 10 yards nearer our goal than the foul. Why have none of our players picked up on this? There is NO WAY he scores that if it’s taken from where the actual foul is committed.

Just watched MOTD.

Mower lines show the foul at 36 metres from goal, freekick about 29 metres. He wouldn’t scored from the proper place. Bloody awful refereeing. A basic task to mark the spot.

Yes, it was despicable the way he re-acted to dear RDZ, wasn't it? Can't ever be forgiven, oh no, no no! Yes, two goals today (or maybe one and a half - a weak pass isn't always entirely to blame if the defence don't react) to encourage us, and two saves to make sure we got nothing. Which part of this will you not allow yourself to agree with?

Worth pointing out to all the Amex atmosphere moaners, that the Chelsea fans were barely audible in the 2nd half (and large parts of the first half), despite being treated to one of the best individual performances, their club has ever seen.

There are no acoustic challenges at Stamford Bridge, and there are 10,000 more of them.

Weird isn’t it. Reading some posts on NSC you’d think this was as fierce a rivalry as Palace.

The reality was a shit atmosphere, walking unmolested back to Fulham Broadway after, no police in sight, silence walking through Victoria tube and I had a chat with a Sussex based Chelsea fan on the way home who turned out to be a nice working bloke who loved his football.

By all means boo Cucu and Caicedo and laugh at the woefully awful Sanchez, but rivalry? Do me a lemon. Some people need to see the world beyond the internet.

You put a lot of effort into supporting a Chelsea player.

Brighton factually.....
Just watched MOD god there were some calamitous mistakes by both sides, our high line is there for every team to see and will be targeted throughout the season by everyone.
I will not be bed wetting just yet, and give the manager and new players to work things out, it seems there are goals in this squad, and we pay for entertainment and we are getting just that.

have a good Sunday everybody

Did it show how on top we’d been until the Chelsea equaliser or was it all about Palmer and the Chelsea resurgence whilst banging on about FH being the youngest ever PL manager, born after it started?

I can’t bring myself to re watch it

Weiffer is a worry. Yes he needs time, but please show us something. Anything at all. It just looks like we’ve thrown a Sunday league player in.

I thought Wieffer was fine yesterday, but looks like I’m in the minority with that opinion. He was nowhere near one of our worst performers.

Wieffer does look worryingly average at best .

We really should have signed a centre back .

Think Chelsea will be top 4 so in the context of things it isn’t so bad .

That first half had been coming for weeks though and it’s a slight worry that literally everyone I spoke to pre game predicted it yet the manager didn’t

Work to be done before Sunday

We were missing at least 3 first teamers yesterday
I can't get on board with the injury-list arguments this season.
The whole point of our transfer window was to ensure missing first teamers wasn't so impactful.

Pedro's replacement (our all time transfer record) - scored.
Veltman's replacement - will be our first teamer as the season progresses
JPVH - replacement - well we didn't buy anyone and the on ethat played, gave away the first goal. (but then stopped 2 goals in the 2nd half)
