    Geoff Sidebottom

I believe it was a FA Cup tie v Walsall, who were are bogey side at the time. As the Walsall forward broke through, Geoff threw himself at his feet, clutching the ball and taking the kick on his head. No 'elf & safety back then, geoff got up and cleared the ball and, as the Albion attecked the...

    No NYD football

I remember the NYD trip to Swindon and how we were 4-0 down before the ref abandoned it due to a waterlogged pitch. Oh how that changed our mood!

The official 'I've realised I'm past it and too old' thread

2015 will be the year when I reach 60, oh dear. When I was young, we used to wonder if we'd reach 1984 and if the world would be like the famous film. Once that was passed, i wondered if I'd reach 2000. To be honest, life changes gradually, sometimes for the better, sometimes not.

(White) Welsh rugby player Liam Williams goes to fancy dress party as...

Not read the whole thread but what does Mr Bony think about it? it's not taking the 'p', more a tribute. Somebody earlier asked about what if a black man played as white? Didn't Lenny Henry do this in a film once? is he racist? And what statement are panto dames making?

A quality piece of pushing in from the Bridge car park, yesterday.

And here we are still waiting to get the car back. What we expected to be replacing a rear bumper was complicated when the one ordered from overseas was broken and now there's some mess up on the paintwork, grrr.

When and why did football hooliganism stop?

Hillsborough & Heysa made the authorities concentrate on updating grounds & Maggies govn determined to tackle the hoolies. Football in the early 80's was pretty sick, low crowds of mainly young men, crumbling grounds and running battles every weekend. Some may yearn for things from the 'good...

Just watched the Millwall game again

I'd like Sami to name what teams we could realisticly beat and what three teams will finish lower than us this season. We've lost to Birmingham & Millwall at times when these teams couldn't beat anyone else and we've drawn at home to Blackpool & Rotherham.

Sami post-match interview on 'The Final Whistle'

Very much like the post above. Some managers are unlucky but I wonder what we do all week. The tactics are baffling, we are not as fit as our opponents and always fade, out freekicks are nearly all miss than hit. He's shown nothing to make me think he can turn it around, I can't think of...

A quality piece of pushing in from the Bridge car park, yesterday.

So may I add my own driving tale from yesterday? Driving home on a narrow road in Bevendean, where cars park on one side, I was a passenger in a new Kia (just a few months old) when a car coming the opposite way decided not to wait a few seconds but to plough on through, scraping the side of...

Article: In derision of the Albion naysayers

We need a big man up front in the squad. Doubt he'll be a 90min player but pleased to have a recognised forward and maybe, like Bridge, he'll find his mojo and the joy of playing again.
