    [Music] Glastonbury 2024

Watched a little bit of the coverage last night. Definitely not my genre of music but how are D Block Europe so popular? Very bad rapping while using auto tune to make it sound like studio outtakes from Cher’s Believe recordings. Had to get my daughter to confirm that it wasn’t a mickey take.

[Travel] Runway closed at Gatwick - now reopened

When I have to travel on business, I try to avoid flying through Gatwick where I can as it is so focused on retail and not the passenger experience. Had to use the North terminal last week and even at 6am, there were very few spare seats around. Much prefer Heathrow T5 or T2 these days. City...

[Finance] ******** The Scam Thread *********

Scammers are getting so lazy these days. You'd think that they would at least make a token effort and try to generate an email address that was vaguely close to the name of the person they are pretending to be.

[Misc] Who taps us on the shoulder and says "time you stopped driving old fruit"?

My dad didn't learn to drive until he was in his late 30s and always had mopeds. He gave up the moped when he got to 75 years old. He was 82 this year and although he is still on the insurance (my mum is 76) he rarely drives and only keeps it just in case because where they live at the moment...

[Football] New Kits Thread - 24-25 Season

Looks really good although I worry as a 2XL not so slim fit person, how many extra Xs I’ll have to add. Which site did you use and how much was it with all the patches etc?

    [Humour] Never Mind the Euros...

Some of my European colleagues last week introduced me to the French phrase "je peux pas j'ai aqua pony" as a justification for not doing something.

[Football] EURO 2024 Matchday 13 (Slovakia v Romania, Ukraine v Belgium, Czech Rep v Turkey, Georgia v Portugal)

That game has broken a record for the number of cards in a Euro finals - if the BBC stats are correct I have counted 19 in total.

    [Politics] General Election 2024 - 4th July

Flyers from all, someone on the doorstep from Labour and a personal letter to the household from Sir Peter Bottomley arrived in the post today (and I’m sure everyone else in this constituency got one as well)

I’m claiming the win. Work stuff meant I couldn’t watch until right before the end but as soon as I tuned in we got the 9th wicket. You’re welcome!

    [News] House break-in

On the 7am BBC Sussex news, I had to laugh when the newsreader didn't seem comfortable with the script she had been given that somebody "had taken a dump" in the lake. Not sure if that was the official BBC line but didn't listen to find out if they had amended the wording for later bulletins.
