We’re in the very marginal of Brighton Pavilion (Labour v Green). Almost daily political bumph comes through the letterbox, party canvassers have knocked several times. Repeatedly, despite us letting them know our voting intentions early on.

It feels nice to be wanted.

Said this before, voters in Manchester Central or Maldon must get ignored.

All Scottish seats must be interesting, in that 2 or 3 parties have a real chance in every one.

Around the corner, we've had all the bumph from everyone but no doorknockers ?

Maybe we are just unlucky or are out more (that's genuine) but it's good for me

In fact, can you guess the last doorknocker we had

Indeed, Yellows are pushing hard for this one.

Reds not really bothering, hoping for the tactical vote. Even matey over the road a bit has a Yellow board up, and it's a house well north of £1m.
Going to be close in this constituency, still going MRL.

Don't worry, I won't quote the posts for what you did on your last two voting opportunities (again).

I certainly wouldn't want to interrupt and make you look foolish when you're doing such a good job on your own

Not all Constituencies are holding hustings and if they are, not all candidates attend. We had hustings in SW Norfolk which Liz Truss couldn’t be ars8d to attend because she was down the pub ( then said she had to go to a meeting - except nobody has a record of any meeting she attended).

Much of the activity will depend on the individual candidate and also the percentage majorities/who currently holds the seat and whether there’s a realistic chance of beating them. The candidate I am working for, loves knocking on doors ( rather than telephoning) - I used to but I’m happy sitting at home using the phone and doing voter ID work.

Nothing from the Greens, LibDems or Communist Party ( yep we have one of those):

Flyers from all, someone on the doorstep from Labour and a personal letter to the household from Sir Peter Bottomley arrived in the post today (and I’m sure everyone else in this constituency got one as well)

I may be wrong but the Brexit nonsense showed that if you tell folk that voting a certain way makes you thick, then they MAY just vote for it.
These folk are young though, teenagers and young adults. We hear stories about the prevalence of kids/boys watching Andrew Tate videos at school etc. The young lads in this video (think might not even be old enough to vote) are 'concerned' about immigration and foreigners. I'm not sure how much of it is simple rebellion?

I guess it could be partly contrarianism/rebellion but there are many ways to rebel, in my day it was anarchism, not hard right social conservatism.

Given that this seems to be an increasing trend among young people, males in particular, I do wonder if this is more of an existential affect rather than only rebellion, although I guess linked.

@borat I can't remember now where I read it (possibly the economist a few months ago) but there is a definite trend for young people to be increasingly right wing / socially Conservative, maybe not significant though...

We've had a selection of red/blue/green in recent weeks, but today, we got everything.

we have a few independants.

The independants may drag a few apathetic voters out. My concern is they could split the vote to the point the tories cling on.

FWLIW we have had The Lab candidate knock on the door . . . .no one else.

I've come back home.
Parties can send one letter free of charge to each registered voter in a constituency so expect a flurry of letters coming later this week / early next week. This is targeted, some try to hit higher postal vote areas or to those who've stated they postal vote hence why some have had letters already.

Down in Lewes for a couple of weeks at the moment.

We've had one from the Tories, one from Labour, and two from the Lib Dems.
The Labour leaflet's so perfunctory they may as well have either not bothered at all or put something through saying "please vote Lib Dem instead because we're not really trying".

I always find it amusing when leaflets from sitting MPs highlight things they've been doing in the local area, which actually draw attention to the failings of the government they've been part of for the last 9years.

To be fair, it's hard to point to anything that doesn't draw attention to the failings of the government they've been part of for the last 9years

Anybody else watching tonight? Seems like there's a very angry and loud man outside the auditorium.

I think it was you that posted the above advice to another poster, now be a good boy and follow your own advice, it’s getting tedious 😉
