do not think it was tactically garbage at all. think we actually set up very well tonight and toney was fairly limited in terms of the damage we know he can cause us. not sure what else roberto could’ve done.
adingra has absolutely zero confidence right now, lallana plays an important role but...
absolute waste of an evening. we keep saying how boring it must be to watch your team park the bus every week but it’s equally boring watching us try and fail to break such teams down so often
that’s twice we’ve had a ref stand by their decision after being asked to check the screen. i watch a lot of football and that’s the second time i’ve seen that this season, obviously
started decently but you can tell it’s going to be really hard to break them down tonight. conversely they’ve managed to get very good numbers forward when we’ve given it away a couple of times. think we will struggle with the way toney brings the other attackers into play
no fati, barco and ferguson at all is very strange. that said the first 11 out there have enough to get the job done. toney aside, player for player, we have a better team. obviously this means we’ll probably lose
agree 100%. i would’ve liked another midfielder last summer even if we had kept hold of caicedo. in my opinion the strongest our midfield has been was when we had bissouma and caicedo to rotate between. note that guido rodriguez of real betis has an expiring contract this summer. a bit older but...
I do think we suffered without Gilmour and we would’ve kept hold of the ball a lot better had he been available. I just think the idea of playing him and groß as the midfield two has been far from ideal, and massively highlighted his weaknesses. I do agree we will need another midfielder this...
i’d hope that would be the case and i have no doubt tony would have many good candidates should PB choose to move on eventually but i think there’s a reason he’s paid very highly as most other PL CEOs go and that we’ve been very keen to keep him tied down here
i think it says a lot that, given we don’t lay out huge wages for players, when you look at the table for the highest paid CEOs, Barber is well up there (think he’s the second highest paid?). obviously there’s differences between that and player wages as when you pay one player more, others will...
certainly think a decision needs to be made this summer as he’s out of contract next year, don’t think he was that bad today and i’ve seen him have very good games this season, such as man u away.
to be honest i’d start him at lb against brentford as pervis was much more off it today and has...
