It’s interesting that, for whatever reason, RdZ just doesn’t seem to fancy Veltman

Perhaps because he's being eased back from injury.

Given how many goals are we conceding might not be a bad option
I don't disagree, the amount of goals we have started to concede is concerning, but every team that RDZ has managed has always played the same way, i.e. atttack is the best form of defence. I really can't see that changing.

Who consistently makes us much tighter at the back when he plays. We must go back to base principals and stop leaking goals. We are consistently better with a back 4 of Veltman, Dunk , Van Hecke and Pervis. Veltman helps Van Hecke and takes the pressure of Dunk

Funny how people see things. I thought he did ok, but he has lost his electric pace which was his main asset, and I’m not sure exactly where he fits now. I don’t think he’s defensively good enough for RB, and he’s not a winger. I’d have liked to have seen Veltman start last night, we needed his calmness and nous. Harsh as it may be, it’s one position I’d be looking for an upgrade next season if I was in charge.
Agree 100%.

I thought i'd say a word about Tariq.

Isn't it wonderful to see him back, looking fit and looking fast. OK not Usain Bolt fast like before the injury, but at least like he is gaining trust in his body once more. He looks to have a complete understanding of what his manager wants him to do.

But more than anything, it's his versatility isn't it? I don't remember another player who looks like they could cover all 4 wide positions, RB, LB, RW, LW, and play equally well in all of them. In fact, I couldn't tell you what I think his best position is now.

Agree. Was so pleased he came on for Fati yesterday, he was looking to attack and take on the full back at pace whenever he got the ball which Fati just refuses to do.

Yes, well Tariq is just a better player than Fati in my view

He hasn’t lost his pace he burned the Forest RB more than once he’s just not putting the burners on for the sake of it.
Fati clearly isn't suited to the PL Spanish football is slow as in comparison.

Very much feel like he has lost his pace. Couldn't outrun anyone today, in fact was the opposite.

Without being lightning fast and running past people, I'm not sure he's got enough about him right now to be good enough.

Only saving grace is he's not a winger and wasn't played in his natural position.

But I do worry about his future in our squad. If we want to progress we need a bit more.

It’s the amount of games he misses that is a problem for me. He just looked rusty today but has played really well this season, Marseilles away being an example.

In terms of the future of our squad. I want a cull of players who have constant injuries. We just can’t afford this luxury anymore. He may well fall under that category unfortunately.

I’m not sure he has a best or natural position. He lacks the physique, strength and pace to be a traditional FB in the PL

We've only had about 3 players not getting injured at some point this season

certainly think a decision needs to be made this summer as he’s out of contract next year, don’t think he was that bad today and i’ve seen him have very good games this season, such as man u away.

to be honest i’d start him at lb against brentford as pervis was much more off it today and has been for some time. the worry with lamptey, as ever, is how long before the next injury?

Agree.

Also, today Llalllana looked a bit off the pace, despite the shot that went close.
