I think its over for this year now, yeh. A few too many draws in winnable games, a familiar tale really.
There are a lot of real positives to take though - we have an insanely young squad, featuring some very talented players. Much as when Potter was in charge some of them like Ferguson, Joao...
He wants out, but won't quit if nothing comes along - I think he realises that he's not going to get put in a better shop window than us if a bigger fish doesn't take a nibble.
When I went to anfield 2 seasons ago I’d say a quarter of our end was ‘undercover’ Liverpool fans. Guy in front of me held up a scarf to join in with YNWA… imagine that plays a big factor these days.
Guehi isn't going to go to a tournament for the same reason Dunk hasn't gone to a tournament previously - Southgate clearly believes strongly in only taking people who're playing for clubs performing in the top 7. If Guehi was doing what he's doing at say West Ham or Villa, he'd probably be...
Ahh, so NSC's most mentally ill individual thinks others like him should be hanged for murder rather than offered treatment in a secure environment? Ironic.
Both under 23... I don't see Southgate taking a load of young centre backs. He'll know that if one of Stones/Maguire gets injured in the build up or during the tournament, then Dunk will have to step in. I think that is why Dunk got so many minutes over this break, because Southgate knows he...
Dunk will surely make the Euros squad from here - who goes instead? He’s pretty much the only ‘senior’ CB playing at a decent level at this point. Besides Stones & Maguire
Superstar? Nah chance. There is some natural talent there undoubtedly but he is never going to be a world class player - he isn’t that fast and can’t beat a man. Also can’t finish. I’d take him but for a lot less than 30-35mil (plus big wages considering we know he’s on 160k a week…)
All our best play in the match went through him too. We looked much less inventive and incisive going forward in the second half without him on the pitch.
Yep, and actually when you look at the run-ins of West Ham & Newcastle they are both very tough. Chelsea also have to play a number of these teams so there are points to be dropped all over the place. Its not beyond the realms of possibility that we finish 8th this year. But remains to be seen...
