Are you saying we aren't allowed to explore the quality of Albion players on an Albion message board? I don't agree with these comments, but the op is entitled to ask and has had some well argued replies. The Locadia thread even more so. It's not criticism in the Locadia case, just bemusement -...
I tipped gross to be player of the session after 4 games last year. Not sure what you were watching.
Time will tell. I'd like to be spectacularly wrong, and maybe he will grow into Prem football, but at the moment I'm not seeing attitude or fitness or skill.
I hope you're right - and I'm not one who typically doubts our selection team - but I just can't see it. Would love to be proved wrong, I don't want anyone at our club to fail.
He looked heavy and ponderous.
No evidence of the "speed" people talk about.
Did little to close down Fulham.
First touch often looked clumsy.
I really hope I'm wrong about this guy because we need him, but I don't see this being down to lack of game time. It appeared to be attitude as much as...
Superb today. Great passing, as ever, but added steel in snapped tackles. Midfield hunting in pairs (including AK and Solly, to take three ball off them. Great to see. So so different to Watford.
Edit: I notice that Davy was scored 9/10 by Henry winter in the Times today.
Just called the ticket office to see if they had any returns. Picked up a ticket for Watford. There were a couple available at 10.40am today. 230+ points required.
Jose posting video of his left leg getting some treatment/testing on Insta this weekend. Looked like the big muscle groups above the knee. Didn't look serious, lifting weights with left leg and monitoring.
Looks to have bulked up a bit as well.
Didn't get to the game but hearing that AK has looked good pre season. From the pictures, looks to have bulked up a bit. Maybe over his personal issues of last year? Perhaps responding to competition like Glenn appeared to do last season.
Can he keep the right wing spot?
I suspect The Greyhound will get more game time this season.
He knows what CH wants now and has better players around him to cover if he's over-adventurous.
Re Andone - if he can't play in 4-4-1-1, will he get much time on the pitch? Impact sub if we need a plan B? I thought we'd bought him as...
Maybe poorly worded analysis, but not odd interpretation.
We didn't press last year because we weren't capable of doing so for a whole game. Some players looked out on their feet in games. I interpreted the Bruno interview as "we're working on fitness so we can press harder for longer (without...
I think that's the same point. We couldn't keep pressing the opposition, so relied on dropping deeper than we would have wanted sooner than we would have liked too often.
Interesting article about Bruno in the Argus. Basically, pre season has focused on physicality and fitness. Bruno saying that last year we couldn't press the opposition for the whole game. That was one of the big factors of last season for me. Struggling to stand up to the opponents and hold on...
