I find 'posh' as indeterminate a description as 'working class'.
Are they both meaningless?
Are they how some would like to describe themselves?
Are they what others see in individuals?
That's a very sweeping statement!
Have you made an in-depth analysis of the squads of each of those clubs? Players out, players in? I thought I had a fairly good knowledge of football but I couldn't begin to make any informed judgement of who will be better than us and who worse without...
I wouldn't disagree with any of that, Lord B, but my point remains that there is so much gratuitous criticism of Barber and little or none of Tony.
How much of what Barber does is at the instigation of Tony and the Board, and how much is at his own instigation with the agreement of the Board...
You are spot on, Icy, but there are too many who want to blame Barber for anything and everything, but will ignore what you've written because they don't want to blame Tony.
They know you're right but can't bring themselves to criticise Tony because of all he has done for the club.
Sad but...
If that is true, then the Board deserve equal criticism when it is due.
However, I can't believe a board such as ours is so passive. There must be plenty of proposals and ideas that come from the board down to PB for him to implement, whether he agrees with them or not.
Very difficult to know if we have a title-challenging team without assessing the squads of all the other teams. Even then there will be some who over-achieve and others who under-achive.
Frankly, it would be no great surprise to finish in the play-offs again...or to finish 14th!
There will always be exclusivity. If they halved the prices there would still be plenty who can't afford it. No different to anything we buy.
What's the solution to that?
Was he unfairly sidelined by Gus or was he simply not good enough?
It would be good to see Development Squad players make the first team but they don't have a right to do so unless they are genuinely good enough.
We'll never know though, will we?
Whatever happens next season, we might have finshed higher or lower under Gus or, if he'd been sacked six weeks ago, under whoever was appointed then.
I'll ignore instinct ,and I'd love to now what he has learned from past events to give him that opinion of Barber. And if he lets us know the result of his dissecting and researching, along with his 'unbiased sources', it might be possible to agree with him.
1. I don't feel that I'm being screwed by the Club.
2. I am perfectly happy to be called a customer and a fan, as that's exactly what I am.
3. I'd much rather the Club had profits than losses!
What evidence do you have to back up that damning character assassination? Do you know him? Have you observed him at work? Surely no right-minded person would come up with such a statement without hard evidence. Why would anyone want to insult someone with words like that just for the fun of...
How can anyone seriously vote on this?
We know nothing. We don't know the grounds on which Gus has been sacked, and we don't have the Club's side of the story as to when Gus was told.
I guess most will vote on what they want to be the case rather than on what they know to be the case.
You obviously know more than I do!
If you are questioning Barber's handling of the affair, you must know what his involvement in it is. Could you enlighten us, please?
And as you don't question Tony Bloom's involvement presumably he has nothing to do with it ...?
