HDMI cables are much cheaper online than in the High St. You can save at least 50% There are some good sellers on eBay, always check feedback. I bought mine there and they are excellent. As mentioned above dont be conned into paying big money for supposedly superior cables.

I wouldnt bother with HDMI unless you are using HD equipment. You are limited by the capabilities of the DVD player no matter what sort of lead you use. Even if the TV is HD ready, youre not giving it a HD signal to display. Stick with a scart until you have a Bluray player or Sky HD.
