Slime ball Platini may not be FIFA President

Platini's UEFA mysteriously decided, after France 2016, that the European Championships would hold matches across the continent, rather than in one country. Just so happens that Platini's country get the last one...

    Football Manager 2014

I'm still playing an FM12 career I started a few months ago. Five seasons in, having started unemployed (but with international footballer reputation) and I've won the Dutch league with Feyenoord and just now, the Bundesliga with Bayer Leverkusen. About to properly hit the transfer window for a...

Awful, awful news, especially so young. Rest in peace, James.

According to today's Argus Gus will appear in Court in Brighton

Who knows. But yes, do please go on denigrating him in absolutely any way possible due to the club's decision to fire him without telling anyone why.* *I'm not necessarily saying it was unjustified, just that no-one knows. Aside from B.W., of course, and I've no doubt he'll pitch up here soon...

According to today's Argus Gus will appear in Court in Brighton

Because that's sort of how our courts work - everyone is entitled to a defence.

According to today's Argus Gus will appear in Court in Brighton

This is him being called by the court as a witness. Not really his fault in any way, shape or form, but I've no doubt it won't stop you and others using it as a stick to beat him with.

Yes, that part is undoubtedly very amusing.

    Meanwhile at Trafford towers

Their generally confused transfer policy since Ferguson's departure is something of a surprise, to be honest, but maybe not a bad one even from their point of view. Clearly Moyes wants to make his mark on the team, to the extent of (apparently) declining to sign players the club had previously...

England to win the World Cup in 2022?

Winning it might be a stretch, but it's enough time that if we make the right decisions with academies etc now, we will start seeing the benefits by then. Look at Germany - when we beat them 5-1 in 2001 they did something about it and completely restructured youth football, forcing Bundesliga...

World Cup 2014- who will qualify?

I agree with you. We have technically poor players and a tactically outdated manager.

The unofficial Transfer Deadline Day thread - *WARNING* likely to be prem heavy

That's the main thing I've noticed in this transfer window. The price inflation has been absolutely staggering. £15m used to get you a world-class player. Now all it seems it will get you is a decent squad player at best.

The unofficial Transfer Deadline Day thread - *WARNING* likely to be prem heavy

I completely disagree. He's a superb player with pace, dribbling ability and the eye for a pass. Tore England to shreds at the last World Cup. I think he will be a massive success.

    PC or Mac?

I'm a Mac user, and you have to be careful, they're not virus-free, it's simply that far, far fewer viruses are written for their OS. However, as their market share increases, they are, particularly as many of their users think they are immune and therefore don't take proper precautions, having...

Gus on talksport Friday @ 7

This is all balanced against whether something's actually true though, right? Because otherwise pretty much anyone saying anything negative about anyone could be leaving themselves open to libel action.

Gus on talksport Friday @ 7

Not "for" telling the truth. Sometimes people have (wrongly) been sued for libel and lost when telling the truth, such as the Times (I think) over Lance Armstrong a few years ago. But telling the truth about someone isn't a reason to sue them. The party doing the suing would have to allege that...

More likely that those supposedly in the know don't actually know any more than the rest of us, and are just using their prejudices to fill in the gaps.

Oooh, look at me! I know SO MUCH MORE than all of you and despite alluding to it over and over and over again, I'm not going to actually tell you anything!

Should we sell Ashley Barnes to Burnley for 500k

Sorry, I didn't explain it very well. Either way, if his contract expires, he can leave. However, if we have offered him a greater or equal contract to his current one, we would be entitled to compensation from any new club he was to join. This was the case when Grant Hall left us for Spurs IIRC.
