Whilst it would work for knowing how much ‘game time’ is left it certainly wouldn’t stop any of the other stuff you’ve described… teams winning would continue to do this to disrupt the game and allow themselves to stop any momentum and give them time to regroup etc.

My problem with him is he doesn’t put in enough performances like Saturday. Starts the season well, finishes it well but goes missing between November and April. A player I wouldn’t be pushing out the door, however it a good bid came in I could see the logic in accepting it.

I think on the first occasion we had bit more contact, we did go to Spain to discuss the transfer but I very much doubt he was ever interested and like you say used our interest to flush out others.
