I'm currently working up this way too, so depends on what you're looking for.
The Titanic hotel is really nice, but quite pricey and is about 20/25 minute walk into the city centre. If you're looking for a night out, I like the bars on Seal Street - the old fashioneds in Berry and Rye on Berry...
I think the following might've already been mentioned, but really enjoyed these:
Michael Calvin: The Nowhere Men & Living on a Volcano
Pep Confidential
Henry Winter - 50 Years of Hurt
Not strictly football but Bounce by Matthew Syed is excellent
Just about to start The Artist: Being Iniesta
I know it's over the £100 mark, but bought these AKG's recently and am really happy with them http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00FIZ1SXK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
He used to be good, but I think his commentary over the last few seasons has been pretty dire. I remember in one particular airing of Match of the Day, in the lead up to a goal he didn't say anything, but then blurted out "TURNED ON" as they scored. Almost Alan Partridge-esque
So, my best friend finally popped the question to his missus, and has recently asked me to be his best man.
Basically, I have no idea what are reputable websites/what's the easiest way to book a stag.
There's around 20-25 of us going, looking at the end of May next year for three nights...
Henry Winter, Simon Barnes and Simon Kuper - FT.com / FT Magazine - A football revolution
Used to really enjoy reading articles by Martin Samuel but since he left The Times he's had to change his style of writing.
IF this is true, then as much as I would be gutted to see a player of Glenn's calibre leave the club - if he's going for purely more money, let him go. We took a big gamble on him (300k was a hell of a lot of money for us to spend on anyone a few years ago,) and for a few seasons you could see...
I don't know what went on at Motherwell, but wasn't he reasonably successful at Peterborough? They wanted to appoint him on a permanent basis at the end of the season he just has such an affiliation with the north, with family commitments etc he wouldn't move south - hence why he turned us down.
But in all fairness appointing Gannon at that time would have sent us down. We needed a motivator to get the players working hard and putting in high energy level performances to grind out results. Slade fitted that bill perfectly.
