I have been listening to Radiohead a lot this week.

So, have they got better with time or disappeared up their own hipster arses? Important electronic rock band or pretentious musos? Do you hark back to the days when they wrote proper songs? Or do you like the more experimental stuff? Can a middle aged man wear a Bjorn Borg headband with credibility?

If you're in the right mood, In Rainbows is a ruddy LOVELY album. It's a band accepting that they are growing middle aged and becoming dads, not pretending to still be awkward and edgy. The production is really lush and warm.

That was quick. And I have this album on right now...and you are correct. Nick Kent said this is their best album, and that all the others have minor flaws but In Rainbows does not. You could argue that their latter day output is awkward and edgy when compared to their early stuff.

After the first 2 tracks, you can pretty much fall asleep and float away to the rest of the album. It's good. Not sure it's their best, it's certainly not their most "important", but it's good.

Nothing beats 'The Bends' for me...

Couple of tracks on there date it horribly for me. Bones and Sulk. For that reason OK Comp and Kid A are a bit ahead of it for me.

I like a mixture - they couldn't have churned out albums like 'The Bends' over and over without becoming less and less relevant and more and more predictable. Their changing styles have lost them a lot of fans, but have possibly led a good number of people into buying the kind of music they previously would not have considered. I also suspect that Radiohead would have called it a day long ago if they'd stuck with their original template. I think Kid A was amazingly brave, and it's probably my favourite.

King of Limbs didn't reach the wonders of In Rainbows but there are some beautiful tracks on there. Also the Mr Magpie remix by Modeselekkor is majestic. Turn it UP.

It'll always be The Bends for me, as that was the first i'd heard of them. I did really enjoy In Rainbows though; i like the analogy of them accepting their age and for Radiohead, it's one of their more accessible albums.

Nothing quite beats 'Let Down' though, it's a beautiful song.

Just couldn't get on with thm at all. Bought 4 albums at once, after being recommended by a friend, assumed I'd like them, gave one a listen several times and it wa just nothing to me. I found absolutely nohing of interest. However many time through, I never recognised any song from a previous run through.

Couldn't see the point but each to their own.

Loved them, loathed Kid A at first, but eventually realised that it was them, not me, who had got it right.

Too many brilliant songs to choose from, but (and it not simply because I have an extensive pornography collection from the 1970's) VIDEOTAPE just about shades the rest.

Amnesiac and Kid A for me. I also like In Rainbows remix album and some of the Four Tet remixes. Other albums are good but I just prefer the more experimental stuff.

This is a terrible generalisation to make but in my experience it tends to be females that find them depressing.

Love the early indie/rock sound of the early nineties but prefer the more experimental albums with In Rainbows being their finest and my favourite album of all-time.
