So it's all Barber's fault? And Tony should put his hand in his pocket again and pay tens of thousands of pounds to have buses on standby just in case Southern don't provide a service that HE'S ALREADY PAID FOR.
When they've known that there would be a shortage of trains, they've booked buses...
That completely ignores the financial prize of gaining promotion! Whatever we might get for LD and AK would be insignificant compared to the money on offer simply by being in the Premier League.
There are no guarantees that we'll be promoted but we have an infinitely better chance if we retain...
I agree but I'm impressed that you can do Canterbury to Manston in 20 minutes! I live on the Manston side of Canterbury and 30 minutes is good going!
I used to work with Manston Airport very frequently and even their Airport Manager once said to me that it could never be a major Airport...
I, too, am of an age that means I much prefer to sit, but I find your views on safe standing to be arrogant and selfish.
I wouldn't use it but I wholeheartedly support the introduction of safe standing. I would also support the lifting of the ban on alcohol in the stands ... as long as those...
Think both were in injury time. Remember the game well - February 25th, 1978. Also remember exactly where I was standing.
More ammunition for my wife who frequently says "How can you remember exactly what happened in a Brighton game forty years ago, but you can't remember what I asked you...
I respect your view but I don't share it. I'm never close enough to opposition fans for them to hear anything I might say or vice-versa. They add absolutely nothing to the occasion for me; our team and our fans do that perfectly well.
Do they really NEED away fans for the atmosphere they create? Personally, I couldn't care less if there are away fans there or not, and I don't believe they add anything to the atmosphere.
We create our atmosphere, good or bad, for our team.
Complete nonsense, gratuitously abusive and totally naïve.
Also patronising...I don't want or need to be applauded for paying to support the club. It's my choice - no-one makes me do it. And the same applies to the Chairman and sponsors.
But you don't know how far they went! Maybe a little bit further would still not have landed a player - look at Burnley's repeated efforts to get Stephens!
What do you want the club to do ... pay twice the player's value? Kidnap him?
Not trying hard enough might be one of many, many...
Obviously???? Didn't try hard enough????
What do you know that the rest of us don't?
Do you know how many strikers we went for?
Do you know who they were?
Do you know if they wanted to come to us?
Do you know what fees were offered?
Do you know what wages etc were offered?
If you KNOW...
Why are we suckers? We should be the last to know! We can't influence anything and contractual and financial arrangements between clubs and players should be private. We'll all know soon enough!
There is a depressing amount of nonsense posted on NSC and we are probably all guilty of that sometimes. This, however, is gold medal stuff! Perseus' posts about football tactics are baffling enough but this Pende stuff defies belief!
