Acquiring network address means (I think) that although the 2 devices can see each other, they cannot comm together until the source gives out the network address or the receiver accepts the address.... Ignore post...someone beat me!

Control Panel, Internet Options, Connections, - being BT i don't know what your settings need to be but check the LAN settings to see if you need to have the Proxy Server ticked...
