    Windows 8

Was it an upgrade from Windows 7 or a clean install ? I've been using Windows 8 for maybe 2 months now, and it's ok...I've had very few issues in general and I've started installing it on several of my laptops I've got for sale as it has it's good points & looks nice.

O/T Banks no longer covering fraudulent card use

I'm pretty sure there's a law that covers debit cards as well as credit cards as long as the transaction is over £100 Most banks won't tell you this, but I'm 99% sure it's true (I watch all of the consumers progs on TV, and have for years!) Under £100 you still have the protection of a chargeback.

Average Speed Cameras on Handcross Hill

Does the average speed check start and finish with the yellow cameras? Can you start to speed up exactly after you've passed the 2nd yellow camera?

Sussex Police and crime commissioner election.... A simple mans view.

7% turnout reported in Oxford, 6% in Leeds and one in London as low as 3.2% – but the lowest was at 5pm in Southampton with a 1% turnout at that point.

Sussex Police and crime commissioner election.... A simple mans view.

Who does a spoilt vote help? It just makes it hard for the volunteer counters who have no connection with the candidates whatsoever! I vote for the sake of voting....for the "occasion" and don't understand why political parties should be relevant in this? I voted for Katy Bourne purely because...

    Beer Fridge Advice

The Husky beer fridges don't actually get your bottles/cans THAT cold as there is no internal fan or thermostat, relying on simply ambient cooling. I've got one and have never been that pleased with it...been looking at getting something better quality.

I've been using http://thedentalpeople.co.uk/practice/the-new-church-road-dental-practice/home.aspx for about 30 years in Hove and so do all my family. I personally know one of the partners (who is also one of the dentists - Brian Gordon) and he's got a million letters after his name and is...

Windows 8 Pro vrs Windows 7

I've been using it for about a month now and I'm just starting to get used to it! It's a big learning curve from earlier versions of Windows, particularly as the start button is no more. Although it does seem faster in everyday use that Windows 7....not sure if it's going to be as successful...

Surprised that no-one has so far mentioned the Unofficial Mayor of Brighton....TERRY GAROGHAN :guitar: He was the very first person that came to mind when I saw this thread...and is a worthy addition to this role of honour! punk:punk:

Current NSC problems and what I'm going to do about it

Any news on when you hope to do the vBulletin upgrade? I realise it's not something you do lightly, but as you've said, needs to be done sooner rather than later.

I second about the insurance...I bought a £750 Pioneer Amplifier there 4 years ago and paid 10% for the extended insurance, and every year I make sure I put the exact date on my calendar as you only have about 14 days at the end of the 5-year period to reclaim the insurance, but they are a...

YODEL... anyone had an on time delivery?

I agree that DPD are fantastic! http://www.scan.co.uk use them for all their deliveries, and the 1-hour window (received by e-mail & text several hours earlier) is totally accurate and usually the delivery is within 10 minutes of the start time. :clap2: UPS are also pretty good, but don't...
