[Brighton] Levi Colwill *Signed on Season-Long Loan 05/08/2022*

Alex Crook at talk sport confirmed it, normally pretty reliable on south coast clubs when he does say something.

[Brighton] Levi Colwill *Signed on Season-Long Loan 05/08/2022*

Did we favour a loan ? Or did we just not come to an agreement on the buyback ? Without knowing what fee they wanted for Colwill and what fee they wanted to set regarding the buyback it’s difficult to know how viable it was. With a buyback there really has to be a good return to risk spending...

[Albion] Marc Cucurella *Signed For Chelsea 05/08/2022*

They can leave then…. Although I doubt that’s is their stance. Both Van Hecke and Roberts aren’t up to PL football yet it seems so they need to continue to develop. I’d rather lose them than play them when they aren’t up to it.

Krul Mooy Brown That’s three already plus Colwill

How have we paid Chelsea to do it ?

[Brighton] Levi Colwill *Signed on Season-Long Loan 05/08/2022*

I think the club have nailed it personally. Tried to stall a deal whilst we’ve looked at other LB alternatives that haven’t come off. Once the Cucurella deal is done every player would rise in value because they know we have the best part of £60m in our pocket. Take a loan player as cover...

Loan means more cash for Cucurella I guess. I’m not bothered tbh, we can’t be too fussy and turn down a decent player and then be left with no one as the window shuts. This gives us security if we fail to land any LB targets before the window shuts whilst maximising the fee we get.

So more of a first refusal than a buy back

I thought that before the Chelsea interest. I’m not sure if we have turned down £50m plus he will really be the same player he was last season.

The whole saga becomes more baffling by the day. A loan is even worse than a buyback.

Still waiting for mine …. Can see this being a pick up from Old Trafford job at this rate.

[Albion] Marc Cucurella *Signed For Chelsea 05/08/2022*

Whilst I agree with some of what you say, Cucurella wasn’t playing as a LB or a LWB for the last 10 or so games of the season, he was used as a LCB with Trossard playing as more of a wingback. I agree we need to replace him but I’d argue that we need a LCB who is able to get forward if required...

If we are going to replace him with a LCB which I understand as that’s where he ended the season. Any chance of meeting the release clause for Cornet ?

    Players to be involved ? Plural ? Colwill… Broja ? Gallagher ?

[Albion] Pepsi - Shirley that's not true?

Wasn’t Pepsi the official drink sponsor of the euros ? Any chance having to drink the leftovers first ?

[Albion] Marc Cucurella *Signed For Chelsea 05/08/2022*

He has binned off his dad as his agent this week. Whether that means we will pursue him again remains to be seen. Either way with no preseason he is going to be weeks away from first team action

[Albion] Marc Cucurella *Signed For Chelsea 05/08/2022*

That was about us wanting to agree staged payments with Getafe …. In Spain release clauses have to be paid up front in full.

[Albion] Marc Cucurella *Signed For Chelsea 05/08/2022*

He isn’t a child ….. it’s been his choice to hand in the transfer request. Could argue they are just doing their job in trying to help him make the move happen. Agents are utter ****’s but players are as much to blame in situations like this.
