I'm fairly aligned with the above.
As someone who can only really vouch for the post-Goldstone era, Dunk is an obvious shout for consistent level of performance at the highest level and sheer longevity + the legend status that goes with that. However, in my time watching the Albion, I would say...
James Justin seems an incredibly random/pointless selection. Decent enough player but spent most the season out injured and is no more than a 4th/5th choice RB in this squad.
I definitely did not expect him to be so capable getting stuck in defensively, making crucial interceptions and breaking up play like a prime Bissouma - he's played in the deeper midfield role a handful of times over the last few months and shown he definitely has this side to his game...
Am I being overly fussy in wishing they (being: the media) could get through literally any piece praising our players/manager without devoting a chunk of it to mentioning how we'll be lucky to hold onto said players/manager? I'm struggling to find the part where they link Thomas Frank with a top...
If it isn't suspensions (ie. Biss) then it's little injuries like this keeping us from putting that trio out every week, frustrating! It's amazing we've done as well as we have this season when you consider how many different variations of our central defence and central midfield we've been...
Whilst I agree with the majority that Cucurella (with Veltman not far behind) will be getting my vote, I do think our fans tend to gravitate towards our defensive players due to the consistency/reliability aspect, when it's nigh on impossible for our attacking players to match up in this regard...
First case of "wow, that feels a long way in the future", with regards to when the new contract runs until.
Good to have him signed up long term, exciting talent is Jeremy.
Not sure I buy the argument that he drops out the side once everyone's fit and available. The way I see it, as long as he keeps playing to the level he has been of late, he's first choice.
£10m doesn't feel like anything close enough to tempt us into a potentially disruptive mid-season sale...
To my mind he was the first midfielder we signed that marked the shift towards a more modern, possession-orientated brand of football (nipping in just ahead of Alan Navarro) that we hadn't really seen the like before. A true pass master of a CM.
Awesome display from him last night. Be good to see him revive his Colombia career too with more regular game time in the stripes. The talent's always been there, really would love to see him go from a fringe "prospect" to a name you almost expect to see in the starting XI, similar to how Moder...
I'm sure we all suspected he felt that way but it's still nice to hear him say it like he did. Basically implying his success here is as much to do with the environment and people around him as it is his own coaching abilities. He doesn't take it for granted one bit, because he's an intelligent...
