[Football] The Non-League Football Thread- 2024/25 Edition

Hi @stewart12 ...excuse me asking but I just wondered where the Mile Oak ground Is in Portslade. Is it at the old approved school/borstal high on the hill? If it is I remember playing there back in the late 50s/early 60s for Patcham School. Dreadful in the winter especially with the early...

I was expecting Rutter to be off at H/T as he was non existent in the first - just how wrong can you be! But very glad to see Estupinan as he works so well with Mitoma.

And yet another urban myth - this time about his staff. Maybe read the leftie newspaper article that sets the matter straight. https://www.theguardian.com/business/article/2024/aug/06/tim-martin-of-wetherspoons-for-a-while-i-was-hated-based-on-false-information

[Drinking] The Pub Debate - Weatherspoons

Microwaved meals maybe but the biggest urban myth is out of date beer. It's called purchasing power - just like the big supermarkets do.

[Drinking] The Pub Debate - Weatherspoons

JD Wetherspoons reporting that they have returned to profit and are paying dividend, the first to shareholders since 2019. But a significant part of the profit is being paid to staff members below board level - £49 million in bonus and free shares. That's the way to treat staff!

    [Politics] The Labour Government

Mark Twain summed it up so well; Politics is the gentle art of getting votes from the poor and campaign funds from the rich, by promising to protect each from the other. And thus it always will be.

    [Misc] webuyanycar, Motorway etc

Helped my daughter sell her car last year. Offered it to both Motorway and WBAC. Motorway weren't interested and WBAC made an offer £1000 more than she had been offered in PX. Having used this company before (and the Spanish equivalent) I told her to sit on the offer for 24 hours as they will...

[Football] The Non-League Football Thread- 2024/25 Edition

Gosh....that bought back some memories. Last time I went to Boston's ground was to watch them play Stevenage (Boro as they were then) about 2003 in the Conference days. I seem to remember Stevenage had Jamie Campbell playing for them at the time. No tickets/receipt for entrance issued and the...
