    Bents goal celebration

Was it a duck bred and slaughtered by the monopolists Gressingham Foods Limited?

Is it stretching credulity to say that the vocals have a touch of Bob Dylan to them? I fear you may find the actuality of this mélange somewhat bland.

Indietracks Festival / all things C86 and indiepop!

Get over yourself - this kind of indie elitism makes me SICK. What are your feelings on Los Campesinos?

Endearing is a good description - I feel like she needs a hug. Her dad isn't really a fireman - he's a film star.

Well, it's a good lyric, but I could do without the "Yeah yeah yeahs". I bet the female singer isn't really in year 11 either.

She releases several albums a year, so consistency may be an issue. Unfortunately I've now been singing "My daddy is a fireman" to myself for about an hour and a half.

I won't prolong the argument about Green - people obviously like it! Re War on Drugs - some mistake surely? More like Dire Straits.

That Martha album has its moments. Bubble in the Bloodstream would have made my top songs list if it had ended after the sublime instrumental middle bit rather than carried on with its slightly nasal trying-too-hard end bit tacked on. I liked Gold-Bears more than Allo Darlin'. The album by...

I actually didn't mind the next two after Green, but I gave up completely with Monster or Up (whichever was first). Sometimes it's great to get into a band who've already released loads of albums and be able to go back at your leisure and listen to them - I did this with REM as my first album...

That McCarthy collection is good value. Will probably be deleted and cost you twice as much in a year's time. As for the Bogshed t-shirt, well, I'm amazed.... What are people's top tunes of the year? I'll probably post mine up on the albums thread, but it's going to include Court/Date by...

    RIP Phillip Hughes

Shocking and extremely sad news. Desperately sad for his family and for Abbott, lives changed in a split second. What a tragic event.

How are you, Pevenseagull? I don't recall seeing posts from you for a good while. Did they play Stars Are Stars or The Puppet?

I played it whilst making dinner last night. My wife kept saying "I don't like this one" and "this one's boring". Impinged on my enjoyment a little. One of the songs was only about 57 seconds long anyway. She let the last two songs pass without comment.

Anyone remember Richard Naylor who played in the 1st game at the Amex.. ?

I remember the match, but this Richard Naylor isn't one of my abiding memories.

Wigan chairman to quit if FA finds him guilty of racism

I got Jordan Rhodes and Jordan Henderson mixed up a few seasons ago. Quite understandable, I think. And I got really confused momentarily when I got Kit Napier and Kit Simons mixed up too - that was embarrassing.

Wigan chairman to quit if FA finds him guilty of racism

Thanks for the info - I take my snidey (sneery?) inferences back. Caught by the safety net and worked her way up.

Wigan chairman to quit if FA finds him guilty of racism

Not only sneery, but possibly needlessly occupying property that someone else could have used? I can imagine the Assistant Secretary General of the UN living on an estate, but not a council one.

Wigan chairman to quit if FA finds him guilty of racism

I know I could google this, but why did she live on a council estate? Was this a very short-term thing?

Interesting choice. Catnip for fans of The Magnetic Fields, quite Xmassy in a certain kind of way.
