Wimbledon The Movie was partly filmed in Brighton.
Withdean Stadium started life as a alternative tennis venue to Wimbledon for Britains Davis Cup ties. Sadly World War. It put hopes of Davis Cup here to bed and in the 1990s a certain Lord Bracknell ordered the main tennis stadium to relocate...
Living the otherside of the road to The Rose and Crown, apparently worst pub in Crawley, only went in pub once.
But living near it between 2004-06 would witness from window of home the following random stuff.
Two car crashes near the pub one going into fencing and the garden of derelict house...
Good work Brett. I know from personal experience that football blogs can be a bit tough to do esp with competition. But thats pretty impressive, best of luck with it
Well WSCC has certainly been rubbish at dealing with the snow, most people I know have not been satisfied at the councils lack of actitity despite the high taxes. As for East Sussex, according to a few friends in rural areas, ESCC has been disapointing to an extent, and to be honest not really...
Its good for those Albion fans in the Northern outer fringes of Sussex, or exiled in London esp, where at times you can only get London TV with no coverage of Brighton or Sussex (but they cover Gillingham Southend and Luton which are not exactly London), and the only source apart from internet...
Sounds good just figuring what to do tonight, but def don't want to stay in alone, don't really know anyone that wants to go out tonight (most my neighbours being middle aged want to stay in!). Hate staying in NYE! ggrrr
Do love Lewes, but this year doing Lindfield having drinks with old school friend which might be the new Lewes if the controlling crowds don't go to plan.
Did Lewes last year had a great time and no problems getting back as London bound train queue is much smaller than Brighton and other East Sussex railines, but worried about this years event. So I am going to Lindfield easier to get to for me and out and catch up with some old school friends!
Friendlys maybe (not forgetting Albion Reserves losing in past Sussex Senior Cup matches) but they have still not beaten us in a proper full first team competitive match the FA Cup 1992 when Albion thrashed the Reds 5-0. So not too upset will just avoid wearing Albion shirt for about a month in...
Hove seafront, being near nice pubs fish and chip shops and Sussex CCC, and quick bus rides to Brighton. Then again enjoyed where I was staying over the weekend near Hassocks (Keymer!), near enough Brighton with quick bus ride. haha
