I'm surprised that no-one has yet suggested making a link between loyalty points and the number of minutes of the match the fan stays for. I had always got the impression, reading NSC, that the true definition of a loyal fan was one who always stayed to the end of the match.
There are different (and in my view, better) ways to interpret this chart. For example, see the interesting discussion in

This is a good post - and I say that as someone lucky enough to have benefited hugely from both ISA and pension tax reliefs. However, it's perfectly possible to do the rational thing on these as an individual, if you can afford to, and still recognise that these tax subsidies for the well-off...
Brighton Half have just tweeted in response to a query about the short course rumour, "not sure where this has come from, but nothing in it"

Getting the course length wrong (if they indeed have) is inexcusable. I also agree that there were points where the route narrowed too much between spectators and there was not enough room for all the runners.
On the other stuff, I'm not so sure - a lot of the pre-start hassle seemed to be due...
Interestingly the results aren't yet up on the official runbritain site for people to claim their handicap (and they have the results of all the other major races run on Sunday)

under the Brighton Half it just says: "Brighton Half...
My watch was slightly short, but not by as much as that (13.07), so I just assumed it was ok. Sometimes when there are sharp turns and you reverse on yourself (like at Ovingdean) the watch takes a second to latch on to the change of direction and you lose a bit of distance in my experience...
1:47:22 at Brighton half today. Pretty pleased with that - my first race ever at such a long distance (not an earth shattering time but at age 61 I feel happy with it). Brilliant atmosphere, well organised. Thanks to all

Also looking forward to Sunday. It'll be my first half marathon, having pulled out of last year's with stress fracture a couple of weeks before the race. Have not run since Tuesday, and have got slightly achey quads, otherwise all ready to go. Will be aiming to finish under 2 hours, with...
If you login to the ticket website with a fan number (you should have one as a previous STH), you will have the option to buy tickets. There are still a handful available at this moment - eg there are 6 available in lower West (section W1A)
Thanks chaps knocky1 and Simgull. All good advice - I'll book a sports massage after a short run tomorrow, and then just have a gentle jog on Thursday and that's it. My only fear is that if we have a good win on Saturday I'll be tempted to over-celebrate which will not help my Sunday...
Funny - I just had a conversation this morning with a colleague, who was complaining about people (mainly young people, he said) who seem to start more or less every sentence with "so". I said that I'd not noticed this. Then I opened this thread.
Running my first half marathon at Brighton on Sunday - looking for some tapering advice from the experienced runners on here.
Have run four or five 20k runs on recent Sundays, mainly at comfortable pace, although I've added a few bursts of race pace into some of them. Have run two or three times...
I once saw him pull out of a tackle, because he didn't have the bottle. Perhaps this was similar.
In other news, he's definitely guilty of a poor taste in hairdressers, judging by the picture in today's Argus
