Better they spend the cash on redeveloping Selhurst Park and making the club more secure going forward than by wasting it all on a season of high wages...
I don't agree that Bloom needs to make clear his confidence in Paul Barber.
But I do think Barber could do himself a favour by not being so corporate about his updates etc. Fans don't need to hear all the bullshit about how far we have come etc and how we have increased attention from outside...
Along similar lines I did this blog on why £125m prize for promotion represents all that is wrong with football in this country and not a cause for media celebration. Click HERE.
I am pretty sure he lets anyone use his art work for any purpose without charge. Hence why so many crap budget shops sell canvas of his famous pieces for about £5.
It depends what you mean by important. Would I rather we play nice, attacking football? Yes. Would us playing bad football stop me going to watch the Albion? Nope.
Affordability of tickets would have a far bigger impact on how I felt about going to the Albion than how successful we were.
Hopefully someone can have a look at Sather's job now...
Wouldn't mind someone like Alain Vigneault to come in for Tortorella. Guy Boucher another decent option.
Tortorella just seems so full of his own importance. During the play offs he has stuck the boot in to loads of his squad (Hagelin, Richards, etc).
Last season I was fortunate enough to stay in the same hotel in Montreal as the Rangers squad. There were a few fans hanging about asking for...
Done a few more lately for anyone interested:
Why Dean Wilkins should be given a job
Who should replace Poyet
Tribute to Vicente
The £125m play off prize is disgusting, not something to celebrate
I know half a dozen people who are new season ticket holders (well, they were last season). One gave up a season ticket at The Emirates for him and his son because it was cheaper and more convenient to take him to The Amex. Two are Man United fans from up north now living down south.
Whether we...
Not sure you can know Chris Powell has a lack of ambition. He has also done exactly the same job as Poyet at Charlton...
And Jackett just left Millwall, presumably because he has ambitions for a more competitive squad.
I just think the reality of our situation will be that the club is going to...
A lot of the stuff going online will be relatively re-hashed news like the El Abd/Lopez story from the weekend or vaguely Brighton/Poyet related aimed at getting web hits until something important happens...
Journalists are fairly busy people. They would not hike down to The Amex to sit through a press conference about the Albion's next match just so they could ask Gus a couple of questions about the Chelsea job etc (as they have done this season) if Gus just said he was not prepared to talk about...
I would be happy with a safe pair of hands who has a bit of class about them.
I imagine some of the spending will have to be reduced and a serious assault on the top flight might have to wait a couple of seasons until we are established financially and off the field. Someone like Chris Powell...
I guess he does not have to answer questions put to him in such an enthusiastic way. If he stopped giving journalists easy copy, they would soon lose interest in asking him about other jobs.
That was less Boston v New York and more Boston vs Lundqvist.
Tortorella does not deserve another season at the MSG helm. His recent tactics are always going to fall short in a tough best of seven series.
The decline of Brad Richards has also been pretty sad to see. Rick Nash was championed...
