Nostalgia - Old Restaurants and Bars in Brighton

Late 60s early 70s it was known as Sloopys. My mum allowed me to go aged 15 because there was no alcohol on sale. She didn't know that the stamp on your hand allowed you to visit a nearby bar and then you'd sneak back in again. Lots of Scandinavian students there which made it very popular with...

    [Misc] Older Dads

The only downside to having children later in life is that you can miss out on the support and love that your own parents can provide. I am 67 and my first grandchild is now 1 year old. I adore him and more than happy to support with childcare now my daughter is back to part time work. They...

[Albion] Palace or Chelsea - who do you hate more?

A couple of years watching premiership games in a South London pub in the noughties. Nothing prepared me for the racist, homophobic and misogynistic aggression from Chesea fans, whenever their team was playing. In comparison Palace fans are pussy cats. It will always be Chelsea for me.

    [Albion] Season ticket prices 24/25

There are different reasons why the P n R at Mill Road is problematic but blaming it on people who 'muscle in' is frankly ridiculous. The low bridge prevents double deckers buses being deploid and since the demise of bendy buses, single deckers and coaches have to be found. However the main...

[Travel] The most thrilling stretch of road in the UK, has to be...

The B2112 or New Rd that stretches from Ditchling village along the bottom of the Downs to the Clayton tunnel. On a quiet summers evening with the road stretching far in front of you, its very tempting to put your foot down!

    [Albion] Season ticket renewal 24/25

WE then would have to leave early. We live 10 mins away from park and ride at Mill Rd and walk up there to get bus. I know I can get to Falmer on other buses or by train. But getting home would be a nightmare. Im sure the queue for trains would double at the very least. The amount of people...

[Music] Roger Whittaker or Val Doonican

It has to be Val all the way. His version of Elusive Butterfly still brings tears to my eyes as it takes me back to my childhood. I think I've always had a bit of a secrer crush on him. Weird I know.

[Albion] Brighton & Hove Albion vs AFC Ajax *** Official Match Thread ***

It makes no sense. No bendy buses because of the councils clean air policy. Then they ship in 8 buses from Chichester. The world's gone mad.

At Mill Rd Park n Ride. They are missing 8 buses. We've been told they are between here and Chichester. Also giving priority (apparently) to cars not walkers. Ffs

[Albion] The Marseille Mozzie bite thread

Back from Costa de Sol a week now. All of us had mosquito bites. Talked about it to residents in Mijas and they say its bad all over southern Europe due to the very hot weather this summer. Not sure if this is the reason but I usually don't get bitten.
