For some reason players are treated for accounts purposes in much the same way as say a saw bench is for a joinery firm. The full amount of the purchase price has to be paid to the seller but it is only the depreciation amount that is charged against the P&L.
Buy a player for £100m on a 5 year...
Sounds like the sort of reply you’d expect from a company apologist when the question of worker representation was raised.
Edit: If there had have been some sort of fan representation at the club then I very much doubt this membership proposal would ever have been put out for a ‘public’ vote.
Bollocks!
Stood in the wind, rain and freezing cold for the P&R bus ???
Wondering if you will have the cash to buy the next match ticket ???
Standing in a queue waiting to be frisked at the turnstile ???
Queuing for a beer then finding they’ve run out ???

Even if membership was offered at no charge I think it would be wrong.
Charging non-STHs £22 to enable them to buy tickets for themselves on a named basis before non-members can’t be justified if at the same time you are going to offer better terms, (buy tickets for an unnamed guest), at...
Calling the Park and Rides as a “shambles’ is I think a little unfair. I use either the Mill Road or Racecourse for almost all home games and can’t really complain and find it extremely good value for money - I’m not sure how the club manage it for £2.50 a head.

You’re dead right - don’t like the term ‘plastic’ fans in general though - anyone who spends their hard earned cash to watch a match in the cold and wet winter months no matter their motivation, no matter their team, is a fan of football.
Works ok in Rugby League, maybe their refs have stronger characters - certainly gets the crowd going :)
In RL the ref doesn’t review the footage - another ref does that AND makes any decision. In effect the on-field ref hands any decision making over to the video ref.
From the fans point of view has the immense increase in revenue originating from television rights made the Premier League ‘better’?
Is it more entertaining and more competitive for most of them?
Has the ‘good job’ that Scudamore has done and could potentially undo ,without a payment most...
Not only that, we had positive targets, promotion from Div 1 and then aiming for promotion to the PL.
The only target we now have apparently is the negative one of not being relegated.
Doesn’t make for exciting times at the moment but like any long term fan, I live in hope.
