Yep - the “trainers are banned from dining areas” bit implies they’re ok in the lounges. The “trainers, shorts, flip flops are banned” bit states they’re banned everywhere.
Like you, I believe they mean the former; but that’s not what they’ve written!
Not so. Check my prior post - the text is confusing, the more so since they mention trainers twice - once staying that they’re not allowed in dining areas, the second saying they’re not allowed at all. Also, they’ve been allowed the last two or three seasons, and there’s been no other...
It’s actually worse than that.
Yes, they confirm that “trainers are not permitted” in the dining areas, but in the very next sentence, in among all the other things that we know aren’t allowed anywhere in 1901 (shorts, flip flops, etc.), they list trainers.
On the face of the Email then...
Before she takes legal action, and in addition to checking whether she actually is entitled to the 5 days’ holiday she thinks she is, could I suggest she considers whether she’s ever going to need a reference from her ex-employer. Suing them won’t enamour them to her - but if she’s entitled to...
My mum can’t come to the Burnley game so the GLDHI is using her seat. We’re making a weekend of it, and have booked Riddle & Finn’s for Friday night and Little Fish Market for after we batter Burnley. Any particular favouritesoff their menus?
Also, brunch recommendations for Sat & Sun very welcome.
Nyetimber is about the best of the bunch. Classic Cuvee used to be vintage, but for a few years has been a blend. Their blanc de blancs remains a vintage wine. The Tillingdon Estate single vineyard is, IMO, their best wine, but it’s made in very small quantities - maybe 350 cases pa. it’s...
Margaret River is my favourite Oz wine region - with one exception: if I’m having a red meat laden BBQ, then you can’t beat a Barossa.
I can’t speak to your other observations since I’ve never visited. One day I will, hopefully. I’m envious that you have!
Noted, thanks. I’ll see if I can get my hands on some Roches Neuves to try.
Off the natural wines for a sec - did you get to try any Jacky Blot wines - in Montlouis? The man’s a genius.
Yes.
Organic = what you don’t do to the soil/vines
Biodynamic = what you do do to the soil/vines
Natural = what you do/don’t do to the grapes/must (juice) from harvest through to bottling.
There are certifications available for organic and biodynamic; currently no such recognised certification...
Cullen do indeed make some outstanding wines; the reds are particularly good imo. However, while the viticulture is both organic and biodynamic (organic being focused on what you don’t do to the land/vines, eg no chemical fertilisers/pesticides, biodynamic being focused on what you do do - in...
