I've always maintained that Mac was a far bigger loss to us than Caicedo. Unspectacular player (apart from the old worldie) but most matches he just didn't put a foot wrong. Engine Room supervisor.
He really didn't. When he went to the monitor and looked at it I thought it was a strange penalty he was about to give. From a footballing perspective I'm glad it was left on field. Refs really need to toughen up and use their instincts more.
ME. For watching 20 minutes behind everyone else and not putting it on x1 fast forward so the match looked more exciting. I just wanted to go back to my book.
We did so in 74 & 76 and only won one of those six matches. Also in 79 where we faired somewhat better (apart from the wobble at Cardiff).
Three games at Easter wasn't an every year experience though.
