[Albion] Andre Marriner last night. Thoughts?

Nice sun tan, decent haircut. Looked quite trim I thought.

That's stupid defending. I don't like Marriner but that's down to us.

Never liked Marriner. Although I'm not sure I like any of the current PL refs TBF.

Generally agree. But swimming clubs tend to be a lot more inclusive in my experience - if you're keen to swim, then in most towns in Sussex, you'll find a club working hard to get you in (and keep you in) the pool! Can't say the same about tennis.

    **** me, it's worse than I thought!

[NSC] Vaccine passport required to enter Amex

The Albion are allowed to impose any reasonable condition of entry they want. Including evidence of COVID safety (double jabbed etc). And people will vote with their feet. Either they'll come and follow the entry rules, or they won't. So far it looks to me like several thousand are not...

[Other Sport] Emma in the final - official thread

I must admit, until Mr Rune pulled me up on this, I thought it was a fairly universally held view. e.g. https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2020/nov/14/british-tennis-missed-shot-judy-murray-tim-henman My main point wasn't really that though. It was that there are less kids playing tennis...

[Other Sport] Emma in the final - official thread

When I was growing up, the local Rec had 8 courts and the secondary school had several too. It was just a game you played in summer; all the local kids did. That doesn't seem to happen now and it does indeed appear to have taken itself a bit "David Lloyd". Probably why we're no good at it...

    [Football] England v Andorra 5pm

Can't say how pleased I am that a weekend of football has been given up so England (population 50m+) can stick it to Andorra (70k). What a load of nonsense.

[Cricket] England v India, Fourth Test match, The Oval, 02-06 September

I think we're getting battered. Lead of 171 and 7 wickets in hand, 2 full days to come. Would take a draw at this point.

[Food] Simple question. Why no catering staff?

In the light of a fairly average performance on the field, my relative priorities are 1. Strengthening the squad 2. Strengthening the squad ..... 58. wittering on about the catering. Mr Barber, you have not been charged for this advice.

[Albion] Brighton & Hove Albion vs Everton *** Official Match Thread ***

Very good analysis IMO. But we need to recognise that we are being schooled by the aforementioned XXXL and try and change things up. Not carry on doing what we are doing. Aside from the odd run by Biss (what an absolute player by the way) I didn't see much sign of that. Still, yesterday at...

[Albion] Brighton & Hove Albion vs Everton *** Official Match Thread ***

How many times did we make it to the half-way line, then turn, pass it across the defence and onto the opposite wing. And repeat. Probably even more when we were 0-2 down than earlier in the game. Great for possession stats, not so good for creating a threat. Obviously it is the only...
