Were you at said board meeting then? If not how do you know what happened, I've seen nothing saying that a result of that board meeting was he is here for the long haul. It's what Bloom said a few weeks back, but things change (or not in Hyypia's teams)
Would love to see Oscar back here, but not going to happen so another vote for Steve Clarke. He is a top class coach who was poorly treated by west brom
Nothing wrong with the role of director of football. Working with a manager it frees that manager up to concentrate on his main job of coaching and selecting the team he thinks will win the game.
I've never had a problem with Paul barber, but his notes in the programme pissed me right off. If I had the inclination I would type them out, but it was all very conceding and really not very well thought out.
Yes I sort of feel sorry for him, but I disagree about being screwed by the club. He has a decent squad to choose from and yet he keeps making the same mistakes game after game.
That did what they had to, got the goal and sat on it. From memory their keeper made one save (from JFC playing higher up the field) and that was it against a team who let in five at home in their last game.
On what basis are you saying we would be worse if Jones were to take control?
Did well with Charlton DS and did a lot of coaching (and I would say more of a say) last season and that wasn't too bad.
Didn't want either out and would take both back tomorrow. Especially Oscar who I truly believe could have been a great if the board had backed him in January.
