Neither has Thomas Frank, he's doing OK.
As for the second part, that's true of every single manager before they become a manager. Pep Guardiola had one year coaching the Barca B team before taking the main job. Is that really greater management experience than Hayes twelve years managing...
Ah f*ck it, we'll get over this. We've got a team of great players who want to succeed, thousands of fans supporting them all over the country, a new manager wanting to win and an owner who will keep making the right decisions. We'll be fine.
All good. I hope Bloom and Barber can keep their heart in it to build again, it took them years putting together the team to take us to the top half of the PL, and in six months we've seen that cherry picked off by the rich clubs.
Well quite. It was a great theory while Potter was here and less so now he's gone. But there are all kinds of managers who get good results in the Premier league and who the players look up to, many of them beat Potters team. Maybe we'll get someone who will keep all the good bits of Potter plus...
Or indeed what Claudio Ranieri did at Leicester. True he wasn't taking over a side that had been successful the season before, but same players, same tactics and a lot of positivity went a very very long way indeed.
The media's tale on Brighton is that it's all down to Potter. When I hear that I half think of calling up 606 and letting them know that it's not really about Potter, it's about the way the club is run from TB down. Potter is good, but the reason Potter was here in the first place was because of...
I want to say thank you - but I don't know if six months of great football and then leaving is worth the years of unwavering support I gave him through the barren runs
I'd agree, she's about as talented and experienced as they come. Not sure who else could be on the shortlist with multiple titles in one of the worlds strongest leagues. She's a winner.
Possibly the only time we'll be looking for a new manager with the club in the top 4 of the Premier league, coming off a five goal win and a squad of players everyone is cooing over.
So probably not the time to offer the role to an unknown up and comer, this is the time we can get a talented...
Well. Sunday we deliver an amazing performance, up to fourth and we're all walking on air. Monday Tuesday the media are gushing over us. Wednesday and Potter is on his way. Feel like I've been punched on the gut.
Last time I vent like this was Poyets departure, I could never get behind Garcia...
Then this has been rumbling on for a while I guess. Tuchel sacked this morning and he agrees to take the job instantly without taking time to consider or consult those close to him?
That's true. Of course, a manager named Pep Guardiola had never done anything in the PL before, and that turned out alright, so maybe your fears are unfounded
Managers and players at PL level don't base their decisions on 'what if I fail?' They are way to ambitious for that.
However if they think the set up at the new club leaves them destined to fail, then that will come into the decision of course.
