Or that he had decided to move some time ago and that the WC was going to be his shop window. The interest didn't flood in, so he began to agitate for a move.
I don't see anything about the way our club operates to suggest a player who needed support wouldn't have got it.
Totally agree with you. But this is not a spat between coach and player that has led to a transfer request. This is simply a player who is engineering a move.
Not that surprising that grumpy looking player who was part of a mass grump at the world cup (where some players refused to speak to Trossard I understand) acts like a grumpy child when he didn't get what he wants (encouraged by inept agent).
Whilst disappointing, none of this seems surprising.
I suspect he was hoping to shine at the world cup in a strong Belgian side and come back with reputation enhanced, and to a queue of suitors. I'll bet they are less enthusiastic now than they were and he's got a major hump.
We don't know that there have been death threats. So let's not over over text at this stage.
But if he is getting abuse, that's a shame and totally unwarranted. Still a legend in my eyes.
This is not the way to have this debate. And I guarantee it won't produce a representative sample of opinions. If you have an issue with Swansman, DM Bozza. I have.
So much of football is played in the head. Plenty of less able players have gone way further than more able ones because they had a better attitude or temperament. We loved Knocky for his flair, but in his case that came with some Gallic volatility. Almost univerally loved by us - and disliked I...
Chelsea started with 5 of their Champions League winning team yesterday and 9 full internationals v. City apparently. I know they have injuries, but that's hardly bare bones.
I'm not sure if we play quicker than under GPott. It does look crisper.
But we do draw the opposition on much deeper in our own half and that creates space which allows us to find passes more readily than before. So maybe it appears quicker because we have pulled the oppo out of position and...
None but the biggest curmudgeon would argue that Albion are performing on the pitch.
Now, it's our turn.
Can we try and replicate the non stop support and noise that we generated in the Chelsea game when Liverpool visit next week?
We can do it. We know it makes a difference. Can the Amex...
I'll counter that with the fact that RDZ was, and still is, a very new manager at the Albion. He took over a decent side but he's still finding his feet. Most people are spotting a consistent, albeit non linear, and steady improvement.
Arsenal defeat was primarily down to a couple of...
Totally agree with you about loyalty and made the same point on another thread.
But we didn't let CH go because we thought someone else could do it better. TB was quite specific - he said at the time words to the effect of the risk of keeping Hughton was greater than the risk of trying...
