Totally agree. I thought wed move very quickly once the window opened to avoid the summer issues and give us the best chance of survival. Lets hope its next week.
No doubt the article is probably rubbish but I do hope that for whatever striker we are interested in we are slightly more advanced in the procesd than 'pondering a bid'.
Somewhere inbetween. Im desparate for us to survive and think we need a striker to do so. But if it doesnt happen I will be disappointed that night but like most will move on and support whatever the outcome on the field.
Surely we arent going down the route of assuming decent players only become available at the end of the window? Leaving it late didnt work first time round as regards the striker. And before anyone gets on my case i know we tried. Sooner the better for me.
If we went that route where would you play him in the current formation? Gross has done well and im not sure that Propper and Stevens are given that much freedom to drive forward. Still favour a pacey and strong forward myself if we make a signing.
I honestly believed that after the summer we would sign our striker in the first week of the window having worked since September on it. Stupid wasnt I!
Following on from the poor finish to the August window I always assumed that the much needed striker would be signed very early in the window. I mean you surely wouldnt let it get to the Janssen stage again would you??
Still I await correction on my unrealistic expectations by the transfer police.
I see others have answered and your list is long but it doesnt excuse the fact that we failed to land our most important signing. No one is saying we didnt try and that things went against us. I hope as you probably do that you arent writing a similar list come February. I will stand by my point...
My bed isnt wet and I will accept whatever happens this season. I guess I should have said that I hope lesson have been learnt from the summer and that I hope we are well advanced in the hunt this time. whatever the strategy last time it failed in the key area for some reason and we cant afford...
Why do communications like this fill me with dread? Lets be honest the failure to sign a forward for whatever reason in the summer was poor. We need to strike early this time round and i hope stuff like this isnt the beginning of the usual sound bites we get at window time.
Leave it late again...
Fits the profile of the type we would be interested in. Quick and powerful and at the right age. Could work for both parties in that he could score the goals we need over this year and maybe next and get a really big move and we get survival and the riches that brings whilst his price goes up...
One thing for me. Whoever is our striker target i hope we are a bit further down the line than thinking about a bid. We need him in the first week not faffing around until the end.
but he wouldnt would he since grabbing someone by the hand is not deemed violnt conduct but punching someone in the ribs however hard is. Indeed the hand grabbing as you put it formed part of his defence in trying to reduce the ban. so it was seen by the officials reviewing the incident but...
Can i just add whether Murray was seriously hurt or not makes no difference to the offence your defender committed. you may bleat all you like about things going against you but in this instance it didnt because seen in the match would have meant 10 men and possibly a penalty if the ball was in...
indeed the dive was an embarrassment but no more than that with no material effect on the game. Dyche knows that and is clearly trying to deflect away from the defender elbow which should bring a ban.
as i get older i really start to dislike this type of crap. i wish managers would just be honest.
