Well, no, Dunk and Colwill were perfect, they didn't make a mistake. I was just pointing out two Steele errors that he got away with. If Xhaka had controlled that ball this thread would look very different.
I do like how we play, but never thought Sanchez was that bad at it - obviously not...
Yes, he did some lovely work. But also almost gave the ball to Xhaka with the goal empty, and whacked a pass into Jesus that could have gone anywhere. It could, could have been very different. But otherwise, very will played
Yeah, but it's not only us who have a load of games as a result, it's Newcastle and City too and they might also be tired/ resting players. One can but hope
It's one game, one where he did make mistakes, sure, but was also left exposed time and again by the tactics we employed.
And as you point out, he's still better than the rest. Anyone who points to Dunks mistakes tonight and use that as a reason to leave him out whilst simultaneously...
Well, yeah, you're right, but if we did have that extra man in midfield which we normally have, plus Solly on from the start, we'd be snuffing out more of those attacks at source, plus our defenders wouldn't have to be pushing so high up the pitch. I do think that change of formation to two up...
You can't criticise Steele, sure, they were good shots. And he's only facing them because the rest of the team didn't play well. But I still think that Sanchez would have saved Doucoure's second, because I've seen him make saves like that for a couple of years. We probably would still have...
The strikers giving the ball away is not really the issue, the problem was we weren't winning it back quickly. Normally we're one of the best in the league at regaining possession, but that requires bodies in midfield and today with Welbeck, Undav and Buonanotte sitting ineffectually upfield...
The post match segment here is great https://footyfull.com/premier-league/brighton-hove-albion-vs-manchester-united-04-05-2023/
De Zerbi punching the air, Caicedo and Enciso dancing, Gross and Lamptey on the pitch, Crofty dancing, Mac Allister interview, Dunk analysis, got it all
Yup. So although we need 9 points, 8 if there is a win for either side in the spurs - Villa game, if we lose to Villa we'll have to get at least 2 or 3 points from the Arsenal/Newcastle/ City games.
If we draw with Villa we only need to beat Everton and Saints, that will be enough.
'Only'...
The way I looked at it before last night was that we had three games in hand on Villa and Spurs, so let's call them Arsenal, Newcastle and City and assume we lost them all. That left us two points behind with all teams having four to play. We've got United, Everton and Saints at home and villa...
Not so sure, they need a win, but the way to beat us is to defend deep and attack on the break. Heck I reckon even Man City will approach their game with us that way.
