From memory I think I used a UK card but with a random canadian address. The card wont work for payments but this is why you load the account with $ from the request money feature.

I'm the opposite and genuinely cannot understand this view point. Why will you only use cash? How is that easier than carrying one card that you simply tap to pay for stuff? It takes seconds. Does anybody actually get paid in cash anymore? Because if you don't whats the point in withdrawing it...

Having set up a canadian paypal account (with a random canadian address) and having deposited $20 into it using the 'request money' and requested from another email address of mine (and paying that with a UK card) that DAZN has collected the first payment so this definitely works.

If its anything like DAZN then you will need to set up an apple account in that region otherwise you wont be able to download the app from the american app store. Once you have it though, you can switch back without loosing it.
