Depressing. They were 9 for 5 at one point. 9 for 5. And we've allowed them, Houdini-style, to make it to over 50. Pretty clear they now hold the psychological advantage and we're chasing our tails.
She’s playing Sticky Mike’s 30 Oct, so good opportunity to see her in an “intimate” venue. I’m seeing her in London in a busy September and October with my female indie rock songwriters - Mitski, Soccer Mommy, Lucy Dacus and Snail Mail.
For those of us who like a bit of sparkly, introspective indie-pop, the Snail Mail album (out today) has some very nice moments. Good, summery album for fans of Juliana Hatfield and Soccer Mommy.
Saw Anna Burch a couple of nights ago in London. Very pleasant stuff. The album is nice and summery, good tunes - recommended for fans of 60s girl group stuff and clean-sounding indie guitar music.
I'm conflicted: I quite like him, and I trust his reviews, but I have a very reliable source (family member) who has met him on multiple occasions and informs me that he is an annoying egomaniac.
Got my Mogwai, National, plus Daughter and Otoboke Beaver. Plenty left at Monkey Boy in Canterbury - all the Bowies and lots of the indie stuff. Vinylstore Jr in Canterbury has only got a few prog things plus RTJ box set.
That is a BIG ask. Honestly can’t remember whether I have it or not. Think not, but I’ll have a look. Looking forward to Snail Mail album coming out soon. Also seeing Anna Burch in London next month. Would have loved to see Japanese Breakfast and Snail Mail on the 15th, but can’t make it.
I'd quite like single by Haley, Ten Rapid white vinyl by Mogwai, possibly Boxer live by The National. Will be going to my local record shop in Canterbury, but not sure how much he will have.
It's a cracking read. Read this when I also bought Moonglow and A Visit From The Goon Squad when I fancied some chunky American novels - three good purchases.
That explanation was written by someone else as a joke. The fact that the explanation reminds you of meaningless rubbish is the whole point - it is satirizing reading meaning and value into something worthless.
