Seems like Heavenly are quite a regular feature on this (now) irregular thread - more (old) stuff just about to be released by them on this interesting reissue label:

That's not fair - he'd also dribble around, but not into, dangerous areas. I enjoyed many a time when he would roughly follow the contours of the penalty area from one side to the other.
I'd forgotten about those spiky pole things on the seafront. I remember seeing the magnetic window cleaners and thinking "This is the future". In fact, I still think about those magnetic window cleaners when I pay a bloke £20 to clean my windows - those things will pay for themselves in no time...
I'll be getting the dog to help me practice Paul McShane headers in the sitting room using a balloon instead of a football. Was it actually handball though...?
I would say we've never been top - even after 5 mins, or for 5 mins - using that approach. We scored both goals in our winning first match of 1980/81 in the second half, but I don't know which minute. Other teams would almost certainly have scored quicker (and/or more) goals.
I was at the Battle of Britain memorial at Capel-Le-Ferne (near Folkestone) last weekend. Such a peaceful place and very evocative statue of the airman, sitting and looking out to sea. Fascinating history of the BoB in the villages on the coast around there.
Maybe I'm just being overly critical, but he seemed to make slightly hard work of two presentable chances - but, I suppose, he scored both, so a decent debut...
I would definitely describe myself as a completist but, when I think about it, I don't really have a complete collection of anybody's work, unless we're talking about a few obscure bands that have only released one or two singles. Almost got everything by The Field Mice - missing one obscure 7"...
I've finally updated all my quizzes to reflect the last two seasons, so you can find out which new clubs Chris Holroyd and Ryan Harley have been playing for, or, if you're feeling brave, you can try to name all 153 BHA players that have played for the club at the Amex. A score over 100 is very...
That reminds me that I am older than Jack Simmons was when he retired - never thought I'd see the day. In the 80s, he looked like he was at least in his 60s. David Steele too, although he was younger than he looked.
Thanks. I did consider the Mavis angle. It's either that or they once heard someone else (who may or may not have been from Yorkshire) say it and it's somehow lodged itself in their brain. I'm not going to ask them why they do it because that would solve the mystery and I'd prefer to leave it...
Too many - I think I’m quite grumpy. Anyhow:
“Anyhoo”
“Drop” as in “new album dropping next Monday”
“I don’t rightly know” said in a kind of Yorkshire accent (it may be that there is only one person in the world who does this, but it annoys me when this one person does it)...
