I doubt his name was ever on “the list”, so if we did make an approach I’d be concerned that all this talk about succession planning could be so easily derailed.
But I think he did a great job organising the circus and working with a bunch of f***ing stupid ****s and fans.
I thought possibly Olise might have his head turned, since he hasn't declared for France AFAIK. Wonder if we asked? I guess a lot of competition in that area of the pitch.
It seems like LD will miss out. A shame his form dipped at the wrong time.
Feels a bit soon for Branthwaite and Quansah though. I feel like LD should go, albeit as cover.
Yeah. It’s mad but it would be so Chelsea. They just get FOMO. Want to sign everyone. Desperate for cred.
I thought it had clicked but if Boehly replaces Poch now it would show he doesn’t get it at all.
Yeah, I don’t disagree at all. Think there is more than one measure. Not sure I quite explained that in my post though.
Edit : I think there’s a long term reputation / history thing to consider and then a short term current status thing.
This time next year, if Ipswich finish 10th and Brighton...
I mean 2 promotions back to back from L1 to PL is unprecedented. Kinda fair to move on to better things. Can’t say he hasn’t earned his stripes.
It’d be upsetting, and typical, but if someone said 2 years ago, you can have back to back promotions and then your manager would leave, you’d bite...
Played in…?
They won UEFA / “Europa” in the early 80’s.
While I think our recent status is greater than Ipswich I was resigned to accepting that Ipswich are a bigger club during a lockdown quiz argument, and this was when they were in L1. But also when we were pre-good form. I think Ipswich...
I actually think Igor is quite good. Remember a time when people were saying Solly March was crap?
Igor has really good qualities but maybe not the right system / manager after all.
Not much we can do about Dahoud not settling. Unlucky there. But he showed moments of quality.
Fati, for me...
I came here to say this.
Controversial opinion but I think Goodnight is quite crap and gives me Forrestieri vibes. If one of the few outs is him and we sign a better alt we will be considerably stronger.
The opposite Imo.
If he does well he leaves, if he does badly his legacy is ruined.
Aside from all the saltiness from the Chelsea switch, he is a massive success here.
Coming back is lose/lose.
Part of any rebrand we do now, I really hope, involves pace. As such maybe so. There can be a place for Pas but we have been very laboured in transition for a long time. One of the things I hope the next manager addresses in this, with or without Pas.
Well done Palace. Glasner absolute quality. No complaints here. Sensational stuff.
Hopefully we find a bit of stability next season. Palace looking on fire.
I don’t think RDZ was secretly sacked. Not sure why ppl think this.
It’s clear he wanted to leave / didn’t fancy the challenge any more and the board aren’t going to cave in on his demands. No reason that to think any think other than what we’ve been told. A mutual agreement. We don’t have to...
Not sure. IMO the epitome of mutual. He may have wanted X wages and X transfer funds for next season.
At Bayern he can have that. At Brighton he can’t. Pleased bloom didn’t budge. In all honesty Idc if we go down. I do care if we end up broke and a joke like Everton, Leeds (ucl semi to...
You may well be right. We are certainly at the top of a recent arc. Whether we plummet back to L1 or do anything like that I’m not sure. There’s no denying there is a ceiling for clubs like us. Chelsea have proven there is a hierarchy and a market. We’re a selling club.
