Yeah. I have no problem with any of that. But what does the phrase 'We won't stand in his way' really mean then? Every single player in the entire world has a transfer fee that their club will accept, so basically no club has ever stood in the way of any player moving ever.
If 'We don't stand...
The margins are so tight, taking the ball right next to the stumps was the only way to get the runout, rather than waiting for it to go past. There was just so little space to work with and he caught the stump fractionally first - to call it crap keeping is so so harsh, it was almost brilliant...
Well, you could be right that most keepers would go for it, but Root does seem wide at 1st. Plus i think keepers could get there off Anderson or Broad, but with Woods pace, that's a toughie
Have to say our social media is going overboard on pictures of Caicedo, my Facebook feed is full of them. Thats a very public show to suggest he's staying.
Very much looking like it's Colwill or bust for this deal.
It's a tricky one. He's our best midfielder so we should keep him. But equally, is the drop to Gilmour / Alzate / Ayari really worth £100m? And by keeping him, we reduce their opportunities and their potential to be the next £100m star.
I voted the money. But I'll be very happy if he stays.
fair point :lolol:
But the one I missed out was us selling soon for a negotiated £80-90m - thats what the media reckon will happen but perhaps the least likely
And it does make a lot of sense. We have a lot of central midfielders and need defenders; arguably they have the reverse issue. Caicedo wants to go there and Colwill wants to come here. Its such an obvious swop deal.
Moreover its a great negotiating tactic for us, because we could sell Caicedo...
Funny, i thought the complete opposite. I didn't think the extra Caicedo would have brought to the team instead of Dahoud and Gilmour was worth 80 million pounds.
I was thinking the same thing. Although, based on a couple of poor touches in a 30 minute pre season run out, you've left Enciso off that list, who lest we forget was the absolute bollocks at the back end of last season
Has RDZ actually denied saying this to Caicedo, or is he more implying that he did say it, but he had no authority to make that agreement. Sounds like the latter to me.
I have seared in my mind a bullet header scored by Gerry Armstrong from near the edge of the box into the North Stand goal at the Goldstone circa 1986. I can visualise it so well from my vantage point on the West Stand, even though i was just 12 at the time, half a lifetime ago.
God knows how...
Bowl then out for 200 was never the gameplan on this pitch. No, the plan is simply to get the first innings out of the way as quickly as possible, the number of runs doesn't really matter. Would have been nice to have finished them off late yesterday, but not a bad day. Pretty sure Stokes will...
