[Politics] The NSC 'up all night' election night *** OFFICIAL MATCH THREAD ***

The exit poll for Kemptown suggests that Larry the Cat only got 1 vote. I never seem to back the winner.

[Politics] The NSC 'up all night' election night *** OFFICIAL MATCH THREAD ***

In fairness it's only 45 minutes down the M40. You wouldn't turn up any earlier to Tyburn than you needed to. Although I do believe he has the cart laid on for him.

Oh, we're back to the doggies again. Ah, no. Five minutes of Larry the Cat.

[Football] Leicester lose appeal against Premier League PSR charge

Shouldn't take any joy at Leicester City or Everton and Forest being punished whilst Chelsea and Manchester City extract the urine.

[Politics] How busy are the Polling Stations where you live?

St Luke's Church in Queen's Park was steady at 09.30. Small queue. Peak time I think is 19.00

Haha, Rosie is fabulous. I would always vote for her as my MP If she wasn't a hilarious stage comedian who takes some many folk in :lolol:

    [Politics] General Election 2024 - 4th July

I live in Kemptown and just thought what the point was really. Labour should get 60-70%. I didn't want to vote Labour and I haven't voted Tory for 30 years and can't see myself doing again. Then I just thought how mad the electoral system is and how all votes aren't equal. I'm pretty sure I once...

    [Politics] General Election 2024 - 4th July

I woke up feeling grumpy and utterly detached from it all. An electoral system that returns a record majority for a party with possibly less than 40% of the vote, a government that ran a campaign with showed utter contempt for us, a media that has such power that our new leader shows delight at...

[Politics] How many seats will the Tories get ?

I'll be surprised if it's below 100 and also close to 200. I suppose what I'm saying is it will probably be about 150. But who nose ?

    [Politics] General Election 2024 - 4th July

Shitstalgia is rife in the things I look at. I adore old pictures of the UK, but especially Brighton. Yet you have to endure shitstalgia in abundance. It's like the days of Janet and John were really a thing. The wistful retro-bias in people is only a reflection of being unable to cope with...

    [Politics] General Election 2024 - 4th July

It's a bit like those who said same sex weddings would destroy the sanctity of marriage somehow forgetting that straight folk had been making a damn good job of doing that for centuries.

[Politics] Liz Truss defending S.W. Norfolk seat July 4th.

Oh, no. Those two would be unbridled joy. Rees-Mogg will be far too reasonable about it all and Hunt has been going for some time so it will be a bit 'meh'. Truss, yes, that will be a glorious moment.

[Cricket] Sussex CCC - 2024 edition

Stunning cricket. Although the catch itself earned no more points as it's the same for a tie as a draw.

    [Politics] General Election 2024 - 4th July

The super majority rhetoric is more contempt for the public. The Tories had a super majority at the last election. 80 gives them total control of the legislature and nothing can be done about it. 80 is no different to 440. Excepting that rebellions are easier to put down.
